More violence than you can throw a stick at

Great backstory and film recreation ; Fighting is fun and works well ; Ambiance is superbly accurate

Plentiful weapons don't last long ; Always broke when starting missions ; Some targeting issues

The Warriors

Who said all film-to-game adaptations are bad? Well, Rockstar's Toronto division had more than 20 years to make the game, as opposed to some other game developers, but the bottom line is: The Warriors is what the games based on films ought to be like!

Finally there's the robbing of stores. Just bust the glass to get in, and then pick up the shiny things on the tables or displays. Instead of actually getting the items, you get money (same goes for the radios), which then can be used to buy Flash and...

The Warriors Review for the PS2

Beat on the brats.

Great story and scripting; Simple but satisfying combat; Does justice to the film; Plenty of content

Visual issues; Predetermined characters; Camera gets a little wonky

The whole context of running a street gang gives Rockstar plenty of leeway to create side missions as well. After each story mission, players return to the hangout on Coney Island, from which they can explore the neighborhood to win bonus items. These...

The Warriors

Rockstar has managed to create one of the best beat 'em ups of all-time from the license of a beloved film. CAN YOU DIG IT?!?

Deep (yet easy-to-use) combat system; tons of bonus content; very good presentation; nice variety of gameplay; awesomely brutal fighting

Camera can be frustrating at times; graphics are just average; no online play

The Warriors Preview

Rockstar is having their way with the cult film and bringing gamers a good ol' fashioned beat em' up. Can you dig it?!

I'm always happy to see companies exploring new avenues so I'm looking forward to checking out The Warriors when it's released on October 17. Rockstar's certainly proven that it's capable of making decent games that don't have the letters G-T-A in the...

The Warriors PlayStation 2 Review

It's time to bop, baby, can you dig it?

In the end, The Warriors is a very enjoyable game. There's such a large amount of gameplay, style, and chaos pumped into the single game that you'll be brawling your way through many, many hours of enjoyment. Just remember that this is not a game for...
