Aliens vs. Predator Review

Does the series make a triumphant return or fail once again?

As a whole, does AvP perform better than the original game that created a frenzy amongst gamers that still play it today? Yes, but not by much. All the improvements are minor, and really doesn't bring the franchise into the modern era of gaming. ...

Aliens and Predators are fighting to the death and you're a marine who's stuck in the middle. Or rather, you're an Alien trying to survive against those who would hunt you and use you as a test subject. Maybe that's not your cup of tea? How about this:...

What might sound like a rather harsh review is actually just my way of saying this game could've been better. AvP has some great moments, good action, and some very neat ideas, but they're all held back by a ton of balancing issues and dull gameplay....

Whoever wins…we lose. Aliens Versus Predator is a technical remake of the original AvP game by Rebellion that debuted in 1999 on the PC. Its been over ten years since...

Good overall package ; Multiplayer can be fun ; Campaigns each feel unique in play style

Poor Graphics ; Sometimes awkward gameplay ; No one playing online

Aliens vs. Predator (PS3) Review

Whoever wins...we lose.

Different gameplay experiences for each of the three playable characters ; Ripping people's spines out always makes for a pleasant afternoon ; Multiplayer maps full of Marines, Aliens and Predators ; Lance Henriksen playing Weyland ; Captures the look...

Repetitious level layouts ; Too few ‘HOLY CRAP!’ moments ; Controlling the Alien will cause motion sickness ; Enemy A.I. is frustratingly bad at times ; Sometimes doesn't feel as epic as it should

In the end, Aliens vs. Predator is a solid game with its fair share of problems. For fans of the franchise, you’ll be able to look over the blemishes and find a game that you’ll be playing for months. For those that aren’t into the Aliens vs. Predator...

Aliens vs Predator

Finally rendered in state of the art visuals and sound, the game lets you really hear every inch of the spinal column being torn from a body, and see a chestburster live up to its name in full visual glory.

Aliens vs Predator

Aliens vs Predator revisits the age-old rhetorical question: Is there a point to beating a dead horse? Or, less metaphorically, a dead franchise?

For a game franchise more than a decade old - based on two movie franchises more than twice that - you'd think Sega could turn out a new Aliens vs Predator title of the "reboot" variety. Maybe something along the lines of the new Star Trek movie based...

Aliens vs Predator Review

The broken shell of an AvP game wrapped up in pretty packaging.

The characters are gloriously detailed, the first few levels of each campaign are well done; melee kills are a gruesome spectacle

Campaigns quickly give way to a series of clichs and pitfalls, melee combat is imbalanced, multiplayer is barren and broken

Before its release this new Aliens vs Predator was touted as a sequel that fans of the much-loved original would enjoy. However, with as many flaws as it has the decade-old classic outclasses it in more ways than it should. The single player starts off...

Aliens vs. Predator Review

There hasn't been this much wasted potential since Ryan Leaf

Sega and Rebellion don't offer much of a unique experience to attract gamers who have been up to their eyeballs in video games since the holidays.

Aliens Vs Predator Review [360, PS3, PC]

Expectations are usually high when videogame developers turn to great movie franchises, particularly ones that have been so well adapted in the past. Rebellion's Aliens Vs Predator is one of said games with the world on its shoulders, not only must it...

Many points of authenticity ; Interesting plotlines that intertwine with each other creating a great story ; Visually stunning offering a great experience ; Interesting online modes that genuinely mix things up

Campaigns do become repetitive and are quite short ; Alien control mode can be awkward ; Predator and Alien campaigns are lacklustre

Rebellion have done a great job staying authentic to the swathes of material from the Alien and Predator universes. Whilst the game is fun it does lack some spark in places and the pace of the game can sag under the repetition. AvP is an all together...

An uneven romp through the AVP universe leaves me feeling a little underwhelmed.

My final thoughts on AVP are that the game is pretty decent, but I was really hoping for something a lot more entertaining than this. I've dabbled a bit in the previous two games, and I have some fond memories of multiplayer there, but I'm not feeling...
