Bayonetta is full of sex, violence, and lollipops.

Hideki Kamiya, the director of the trend-setting Devil May Cry last gen, is back with Bayonetta - his latest romp in the action genre, and the first one starring a witch who uses her long black locks to both disrobe and transform in the middle of...

With its addictive, fast-paced gameplay, smooth controls, slick graphics, and excellent soundtrack, Bayonetta is an easy recommendation for any action fan. If you've ever loved the modern-era Ninja Gaidens or especially the Devil May Cry series, you'll...

The Shadow Remains Cast

Bayonetta finally arrives in proper form, battered but not completely beaten in the journey to the PlayStation 3.

Blurry textures and dipping framerates hurt the overall feel of the game's polish, but the sheer creativity and over-the-top nature of the cutscenes will mean it doesn't matter too much.

Many gamers, myself included, prefer the Devil May Cry series to the God of War series. While Kratos has more epic adventures and more violent kill moves, Dante and company provide a ultra-cool, combo-heavy experiences that just suck us in game after...

Bayonetta is a fantastic game. Aside from a difficult late game and a wacky, confusing narrative, it manages introduce a deep, fun combat system that is silky smooth and easy to learn.

Bravo, PlatinumGames. You've made a game and created a heroine that gives Dante a reason to cry.

Wow. There are very few games that can leave you speechless and perhaps a little confused upon completion but Bayonetta is certainly one of them. Once you've hacked and slashed your way through the game you'll have massacred hundreds of angels, ridden...

Bayonetta [Xbox 360, PS3]

Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, God of War. What's the first thing that springs to mind when you think of these franchises? Most likely: fast, over-the-top, adrenaline-fuelled action. It seems developers have been hitting gold time and time again with...

Story can become convoluted

While playing Bayonetta I involuntarily kept saying one thing outloud: “wow”. From the very start till the end Bayonetta is full of absolutely amazing action set pieces. Built upon an extremely slick and responsive combat system. Bayonetta is a new...

Thrills and kills. (PS3)

Bayonetta's brand of ostentatious hack and slash really is an acquired taste. It's garish, knowingly insane action demanding suspension of disbelief for the duration. Attempting to apply logic to Bayonetta would be like trying to teach English to a dog...
