Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011 (Xbox 360)

Though you're more likely to tangle with bothersome insects and creeping boredom than snarling grizzly bears and rampaging rhinoceroses on most hunting excursions, Cabela's games have long had a flair for the dramatic. In Dangerous Hunts 2011, you must...

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011

Hunting games have never really been my genre of choice. Like a lot of people, I've pumped a few singles into the occasional hunting arcade game while waiting for a table at a local restaurant, but I've never gone out and bought a home console version...

Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2009

A hunting game with a story mode…what will they think of next? I never thought the day would come, hunting games (love them or hate them) are quickly becoming a...

Wide assortment of weapons ; New concept shows promise ; Solid visuals

Never feels challenging ; Poor sound ; Suffers from archaic problems found in most games of this type

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts '09

Sure, you can have a QTE with a lion, but do you really want to?

Also, the game doesn't offer up a great challenge, and in fact it gets pretty dull as you advance. The only difficulty comes from figuring out the vague mission requirements on occasion, but most of your encounters will place you on a field of some...

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2009 (2008) on PlayStation 3

Players will face raw danger as they encounter the fiercest animals on earth, including lions, grizzly bears, jaguars and more. Accurately modeled Cabela's equipment in the game means the firearms, tactics and gear are all realistic and precise -- but...

Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013 Review

Lions, hyenas and bears, oh my! Time to go hunting on consoles again. Our full review.

Ridiculous encounters ; Fearmaster is solid

Segregated gameplay ; Generic look and feel ; Weird omissions

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 Review (Xbox 360)

I'm not a hunter, though I have many friends who are. And while sitting in the cold waiting for an unlucky animal doesn't appeal to me, the actual hunting part--the self-reliance, careful aiming, stalking prey--does seem exciting

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 Review

A combination of hellish controls and bland gameplay come together to make Dangerous Hunts 2013 a dull, unsatisfying experience.

Note: The heart-rate sensing of the Top Shot “Fearmaster” is exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game

Consumer review by:

Fun yet intense hunting adventure game.

I always like the Cabela's hunting games and the 2011 version is no exception. As with all games in this genre you can complete the story mode in one evening which is disapointing, but the Gallery mode is great for replay.

Very intense in Story Mode. Easy to navigate with great scenery and plenty of action to keep you engaged. Galleries may be even more fun and definately more difficult

You must move very slow, with Hunter Sense on, to get everything out of the Story Mode. Many checkpoints are too far apart meaning you must repeat much of the story over and over again if you meet your doom

great game its fun

i spent the bulk of my time hiding from lions and hyenas while peeking around rocks to try and pick off a lion with my high caliber rifle without ever leaving my front room and my wife laughing because I jumped when the lion lunged at my face, it was...

the best part of this game is that the animals hunt you, you have to be quick or you will be eaten in no time

can be a bit challenging the first few times around

Product Specifications

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2009 - the latest title in the best-selling Cabela's Dangerous Hunts franchise puts players in bone chilling, pressure-packed hunting situations as they seek out savage animals in the world's most dangerous locations. Players will face raw danger as they encounter the fiercest animals on earth, including lions, grizzly bears, jaguars and more. Accurately modeled Cabela's equipment in the game means the firearms, tactics and gear are all realistic and precise - but this won't always help in the face of an unpredictable, open environment packed with avalanches, elephant stampedes, and piranha infested waters. If you do miss a shot and fail to stop a charging man-eating animal, you will be forced to fight it via a melee defense - but pay attention; it's likely another nearby animal will join the attack. Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2009 will also feature a wide variety of gameplay modes, including fan favorite action zone, and hunting scenarios ranging from surprise animal attacks to strategic hunts.
