Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Often times you cannot pinpoint the moment where something begins to change or evolve in the video game industry. It's only after it has definitely changed that you can look back and see it. Treyarch's Black Ops II is this moment. I'm not sure yet if...

Call of Duty: Black Ops II: The future-shooter is now

When you think about the Call of Duty franchise, you think about the explosion-filled campaigns, the intense firefights and the increasingly popular competitive multiplayer. You may also think it's a franchise that is beginning to show its age and is...

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Review

A sinister villain, some tough choices, and a new kind of multiplayer arena invigorate the reliably intense action in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Great campaign scripting ; Story choices are often tough and encourage replay ; League play offers a new stage for the familiar multiplayer combat

Zombies mode is stagnant ; New codcasting tool is hamstrung ; Live streaming feature is not functional

These are two extreme examples, but tweaking your loadouts with the gear you've chosen to unlock still confers a sense of getting more powerful and better equipped for combat. These are still the fast and deadly battlefields that have drawn millions of...

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Review

The new Call of Duty is here. Without much fanfare, little in the way of promotion, and a bare minimum of general hype, Black Ops II snuck onto the scene…wait. That doesn't sound right. Ah, I wrote the opposite, the antithesis of the true phenomenon...

Here it is, the game you’ve all been pining after/patiently awaiting/inherently ignoring is finally here, and doesn’t it all look so very exciting/samey/vomit-inducing? Set once more against the backdrop of the cold war, COD9:BO2 takes the FPS to...

COD9:BO2 will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. A hugely inferior Wii version will be made available later next year when all the hype has died down and everyone is looking forward to COD10.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Black Ops 2 is a solid shooter which takes the Black Ops gameplay and CoD gameplay in general to interesting new directions, both in single and multiplayer.

Easily the best of the franchise so far, Treyarch have managed to create a well balanced multiplayer and a fun single player. The engine is a bit old now, so it doesn’t quite have the sparkle it once did. The AI is a big letdown at times.
