Def Jam: Icon (PlayStation 3)

Hip-hop has always been a competitive form of music. Going back to the '70s and '80s, with such crews as Cold Crush or Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, a big part of rapping has always been about telling the world how great you are, especially...

Def Jam Icon

When the first Def Jam Icon game came out a couple of years back I was interested in the concept enough to spend the money to see if a "wrestling" game could in fact capture the fun that I used to have back in the 8-bit generation. I was pleasantly...

The biggest question of course is what's' the overall recommendation on this title, right? Personally, I can overlook the slight flaws and found some enjoyment of beating the crap out of Sean Paul and as I progressed through the game I couldn't help...

Super Street Fighter ..

More realistic fighting mixed with a deep story mode, along with a big selection of fighters

If you're not a fan of hip-hop, the very essence of the game would be a turn off

Def Jam: Icon

Previous Def Jam titles were essentially wrestling games that pitted hip-hop artists against one another; surprisingly enough, this formula was actually very enjoyable and worked on multiple levels. Def Jam: Icon is a step in a different direction....

The move towards the slower paced boxing style of Fight Night was an interesting concept, but everything else in the game screams wrestler. The combination just doesn't work well.

You look at the final product of Def Jam Icon and you see a game that has such great style and such a great atmosphere to it that its so unfortunate that the gameplay couldn’t be better. You will start to see the shortcomings of the game rather...

Def Jam: Icon

EA Chicago's hip-hop brawler aims high, but ends up being more rap than hip-hop.

An amazing-looking game that ambitiously toys with music and environmental hazards; great gameplay concept

Convoluted controls with no tutorial; flawed mechanics are worse online; fairly ridiculous storyline

Def Jam: Icon Review for the PS3

A gangsta's paradise.

Good action; Slick beats; Bangin' scenery; Silly plot

Loading...; Doesn't roll deep; Not player friendly

When I think business, I think board rooms, white shirts, tightly knotted ties, bad coffee and worse jokes. But that combination sounds as stuffy and unappealing to rich people as it does to me, and that’s why so many deals are done on golf courses, in...
