DiRT 3 (PlayStation 3)

When DiRT 2 was released in 2009 it boasted a lengthy and varied career mode, numerous multiplayer options, and uniformly excellent presentation. Its sequel loses none of those things and also makes some great additions to the formula. Split-screen...

DiRT 3 Review

Over the years, Codemasters has virtually claimed the rally racing venue to themselves. With the success and long running pedigree of quality found in their Colin McRae rally games the competition has seemingly fallen by the wayside. Rallisport...

Dirt 3 is a superb rally racing package that is bursting at the seams with high quality content, owning only a few minor contrivances. It's flexibility in accommodating the needs of individual gamer preferences makes for an easy recommendation to...

DiRT 3 Review

In the end, Dirt 3 is a game with slick presentation, beautiful cars, stunning environments, and solid racing, but no depth. It's a game that does nothing wrong, but never wants to achieve anything greater.

Sadly, with all those speed signs dotted about the roads and the increasingly annoying speed cameras placed in the best places to ensure you've been reading them - joy riding just isn‘t an option and for good reasons of course. On or off road is always...

DiRT 3 Review for the PS3

Neither rain nor snow nor mud nor dark of night shall stay these four-wheeled couriers.

Great new physics; Returns to its European roots; Streamlined racing experience; Dozens of hours of single-player content; Tight trick controls

You might be a fun ride, but you, sir, are no Dirt 2

fancy new graphics, weather effects, nighttime lighting, gymkhana arenas

desultory world tour, narrower courses, uninspired level design, no sense of attachment to cars

Of course, once you're in a race, it's easy enough to shut up and drive. You might even forgive Dirt 3 for not being as good as its older brother. In fact, you might even have fun. This is a gorgeous and accessible racing game, with some stellar...

DiRT 3

From incredible details, to impressive graphics and sound packages, DiRT 3 is an impressive title. There's a bit of slowdown here and there, but otherwise you'd be hard pressed to find a better looking racer on any platform.

You'll also have the option to unlock all events and vehicles as well as super acceleration and super vault, which are always fun.

Dirt 3 refines its rally formula so even casual fans can get the drift.

The past six months have been unexpectedly kind to fans of virtual racing, presenting us with a number of excellent offerings in both arcade- and simulation-style driving games. With Dirt 3, the latest entry in their off-road racing series, Codemasters...

The DiRT series has continued the tradition of the original Colin McCrae series marvelously while also featuring some of the most impressive menus in gaming. The first entry had sleek menus, while the second had a realistic festival setup and now,...

DiRT 3 has some rough edges but remains a worthwhile purchase for longtime fans who crave more of the racing action that has made the DiRT series the premiere rally series on the market, but newcomers should go with one of the prior games. Partly...

Dirt 3

This off-road racing game could use more depth and variety.

The other big feature is gymkhana, an obstacle course for cars. It’s available both as an open-ended playground and as part of the campaign. But like the rallies, without meaningful variety around it, it all gets to feel familiar and repetitive by the...
