Doom 3: BFG Edition

Doom's legacy as one of the pillars of the first-person shooter genre is unquestionably secured as it approaches its twentieth anniversary. Few games can claim to be so influential, and it comes as no surprise in the HD era there's a new retail release...

Doom 3: BFG Edition is advertising the wrong games in its collection. None of the Doom 3 content looks any better than it did in 2004, which is simply the kiss of death for any HD release, and the eight years since its release have not been kind to it....

Doom 3 was ahead of the curve in 2004 -- has it finally arrived at the right time 8 years later?

DOOM 3 BFG Edition Review

It's time to return to Mars and empty out the monster closets. Our full review inside.

Smooth 60fps gameplay ; New missions are great ; Shooting still feels great ; All three games in one place

No Final Doom ; Need to uninstall to play classics

Doom 3 BFG Edition Review

If you’re a Doom-a-holic, you’ll already own the previous games and expansions but will likely be keen on this in order to blast through and gain achievements/trophies...

Smooth frame rate and updated graphics; Value for money collection; The Lost Mission gets straight to the action

Unreactive, unintelligent enemies; Predictable scares and encounters; Boring PDA scripts; Gets the oppressive design right, but never changes

Doom 3 BFG Edition

Double entendre.

Three games in one means good value for money. New content included for Doom 3. 3D option for those who can do it

Unpolished remake doesn't improve enough. Terrible loading and autosave intrudes on gameplay. Transition between titles is awkward and poorly thought out

Three’s Company.
