Full Auto 2: Battlelines (PlayStation 3)

The original Full Auto debuted on the Xbox 360 and tried to be a thrilling combat racing game but ultimately failed. The explosions were cool, but the handling was bad, the car physics made everything feel weightless, and the weapons weren't much fun...

In the realm of gaming, there is nothing more satisfying than creating mass amounts of destruction with large guns and loads of napalm. Xbox 360 owners got their first taste...

Battle Mode Really Rounds Out The Game ; Fast, Visceral Action Finally On PS3 ; Tons Of Destructible Objects ; Online Mode Is Addictive

Frame Rate Still Suffers ; Game Feels More Like An Expansion Pack

Full Auto 2: Battlelines

No doubt about it, the original Full Auto for Xbox 360 was marketed more for its eye candy than anything else. In fact, the amusing set of pseudo-science videos used to promote the game (still found at segalabs.com at the time of this writing) focused...

This sequel gives the franchise a much needed speed boost ; Deeper than the original, with full-blown online arena battling and a decent career mode

Sometimes a little too fast ; The career mode still isn't that compelling, and destroying everything in sight still has a limited shelf life

Full Auto 2: Battlelines seems to be an improvement over the first installment, but it’s still basically in the class of the last generation’s Vigilante 8. That’s to say, a worthy entry in the genre, but hardly the classic something like Twisted Metal...

The original Full Auto title for the Xbox 360 was one of the highly anticipated games for the console that was heavily promoted by Microsoft. Well the

So were you lucky enough to score a PS3 this holiday season? Well if you did, then I would recommend checking out Full Auto 2. I don’t necessarily think it’s a better game than Ridge Racer 7, however it still has a lot of enjoyable qualities that I...

Take your road rage to exponential new heights in this automotive explodaganza

Loads of weapon combos ; Unwreck" undoes crashes ; Arena-style deathmatches

Insane difficulty at times ; Lame storyline ; Whither online players

Vehicular manslaughter, anyone? Full Auto 2 hammers home the point that cars and guns go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

Glorious and frequent high-def explosions; huge weapon arsenal; fast, frantic and bullet-ridden action

Weird, tacked-on story; some chugginess during extreme action; a total of eight people playing online

Full Auto 2: Battlelines PlayStation 3 Review

The most fulfilling sight to see in a video game is something plain old getting wrecked. Most gamers love to kick the bologna out of another vehicle, making it explode into a billion pieces. Just like Oscar Mayer Weiner, everyone's in love with...

Hood-mounted cannons; blowing stuff up; looks fantastic

God-awful menu driven single player gameplay; still pretty un-original

Full Auto has pinned itself as a big competitor in the "death racer" genre against series such as Burnout, ranging back to Twisted Metal and many others. Releasing the first to the series less than a year ago on the 360, Full Auto offered up a mix of...

Full Auto 2: Battlelines (PS3) review

The battlelines have been drawn... and Full Auto lost

Despite being a lot of fun, Full Auto 2 just doesn't have the long term appeal it so badly needs in the face of the competition from MotorStorm. It'll certainly charm for a day or two, but it's hard to see where it can take you after that.

Full Auto 2: Battlelines

Crashes and burns, but not in a blaze of glory.

Destroying stuff is satisfying ; Challenging arena battles

Clumsy control system ; Handling and physics feel 'off

Somehow they've botched racing and blowing stuff up so that it isn't much fun anymore.
