God of War: Origins Collection

God of War is one of those rare video game franchises where every game in the series has been a spectacular achievement in terms of gameplay, graphics, and storytelling. For the most part the series has been exclusive to the PS2/PS3, with the three...

It goes without saying that the God of War Origins Collection is a must-have for any fan of the series. If you haven't had the chance to play these games there is a ton of content to keep you busy for a very long time, and even if you've already played...

God of War III

Sony has been on a pretty amazing roll. In the span of just over a year, the company's first-party lineup for the PlayStation 3 has included the likes of Killzone 2, inFamous, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, MAG and...

God of War III is like James Cameron's Avatar. Odd comparison, I know, but hear me out for a second. Avatar, the movie, was a technological achievement more than a triumph in storytelling. We'd all seen the story before, in movies like Pocahontas and...

Kratos remastered for PS3... but far from tamed

Two adventures in HD ; Epic battles that feel great today ; Breathtaking bosses

The hellish poles of Hades ; No real new content for fans ; Can't quickly switch between games

If you’re in any doubt about God of War’s importance to gaming, let alone the PlayStation brand, here’s the perfect chance to get acquainted with the titles that pushed PS2 to its limits – uniting arcane, but precise, Japanese play dynamics with...

Quick Review: God of War Collection for PS3

What: God of War Collection is a port of God of War and God of War II onto a single Blu-ray disc. Each of the games were remastered from the original releases in order to run at 720p HD. This is the first time that the God of War games have been...

God of War Collection

The God of War series finally comes to the PS3 and while God of War III is still a few months away, this HD retelling of the first two games is goretastic!

For those who have not yet experienced the Adventures of Kratos, the God of War Collection is a no-brainer, and probably the best overall value on PS3 this year. Two great games for $40 (complete with all the bonus features from both games, of which...

God of War Collection

"I don't know anything about it," said of God of War III producer Stig Asmussen of a God of War I/II Blu-ray collection, "so I don't think it's likely it's gonna happen." That was at E3 earlier t...

God of War Collection

With God of War III on the horizon for the PlayStation 3, it made sense for Sony to take the first two games and bring them over to the console. Originally released on the PlayStation 2, both games were visually stunning on the platform, being a real...

Two great games get a shot at a new audience ; With the new high-definition upgrade players are really able to see just how good the games were ; The action was excellent back then, and holds up today

Cutscenes not touched up ; Only 720? Not 1080 ; I hate double-jumping

God of War Collection is certainly one of the better offerings on the PlayStation 3 this season. It catches gamers up with Kratos, gives new PS3 owners that may have missed the PS2 originals a chance to get in on the action, and reminds gamers just how...

God of War Collection Review

I have a confession to make. I'm an absolute sucker for the holiday seasons' high-priced, totally unjustifiable Special and Collector's Editions. Yup, I even have the mini Master Chief helmet—and no, I didn't try it on my cat—displayed proudly on my...

The best compliment I can grant this collection is that I actually played through the entirety of both games. I didn't plan on it. Seeing that I'd already completed them in their original forms, I'd felt I could do a competent critique on the new...

Go With God

The God of War Collection is more than two of the PS2's most high-profile releases given the HD treatment, it's hopefully a sign of things to come.

Two games that show the surprising evolution from a solid (though at the time amazing) action/adventure game to easily one of the most impressive franchises on the PS2 are here, presented better than they ever were and act as a perfect prep for number 3.
