Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits

Where would we be without Guitar Hero? When the series launched back in 2005, it was revolutionary to the genre and proved to be a surprise overnight hit. Music lovers were left with glee over the prospect of rocking out to their most heartfelt tracks,...

Greatest Hits does what it says on the tin and the song updates are welcome, but the logistics of charging full price for what is basically an extended track pack makes it difficult to recommend. If you are new to the series then it is a worthy...

Guitar Hero Greatest Hits - Nintendo Wii review - Pocket-lint

Worthy of the "greatest hits" title?

All master tracks, supports full instrument set, approachable structure, online play and character customisation

Many fans will dispute the track-choice in this "best-of" album, but the master-track conversion and full instrument compatibility should be enough of a pull

Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits

In the face of the ridiculous numbers of releases in the franchise, it's sometimes to difficult to remember that there is a reason for the number of entries: they sell. Why do they sell? Because, despite the brand feeling stretched, at the end of the...

Greatest Hits feels slightly unnecessary, but it does deliver a bunch of songs that have not seen full band play in the Guitar Hero series before which goes a ways to making it worthwhile. With Guitar Hero 5 now out, you'd probably be better going for...

Games Xtreme puts another dime in the Jukebox Baby and rocks out with Guitar Hero Greatest Hits!

A good game for the GH nostalgia factor, not much for people who already own the previous titles – a good entry point for new fans to the series who might want to experiment before going full out with World Tour or so on.

Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits

Despite a few niggles with the note structure changes and the nagging feeling that this could have all been DLC, Greatest Hits is still a lot of fun.

Play favourites as a band ; Great track list

Some note structure changes ; Less tracks than normal and no DLC

Despite a few niggles with the note structure changes and the nagging feeling that this could have all been DLC, Greatest Hits is still a lot of fun. If you've been waiting to play some of the best tracks from previous games with your friends as a full...

Guitar Hero Greatest Hits (Xbox 360) - Gameplanet Review

Probably best to consider this game as a track pack for Guitar Hero World Tour, with looser timing and an arguably better choice of songs. It does seem like money grab however, and we can't help but think offering it as a DLC pack may have been a wiser...

Seems to hit most of the high notes from the early Guitar Hero titles, and you have the chance to hear old favourites as master tracks this time around

The inclusion of some songs will have you scratching your head. HOPO timing has never been as much fun as it was in GH3. No new hardware on offer, and no DLC - zilch, zip, nada

Newcomers will love it.

Insane Fun

Newbie and the hardcore...

We understand the idignation of longtime fans and indeed owners of all previous Guitar Hero outings, but a) No one is forcing you to buy this and b) It's not for you anyway, so shut it.

Good enough to buy twice?

Entertaining almost by default, yet diluted like spit in the ocean.
