Heroes of Ruin Review

Meager difficulty diminishes much of Heroes of Ruin's adventurous charm.

Good variety of monsters and environments ; Seamless co-op integration

Lack of challenge lessens lure of new loot and skills ; Busted monetary system ; Only one difficulty setting

Heroes of Ruin is a competent adventure that encompasses the key aspects of the genre but never goes beyond the expected. And through your initial playthrough takes roughly 15 hours, there aren't harder difficulty settings, so there's little incentive...

Review: Heroes of Ruin for Nintendo 3DS - GamerTell

I enjoyed playing Heroes of Ruin, but as the game went on, I was stuck with the feeling it wasn't going to become what I wanted it to be.

Fantastic multiplayer action, fun use of StreetPass and SpotPass, decent graphics

Lackluster single player option, too much back and forth in level design, combat is too basic

Heroes of Ruin review: Diablo in the palm of your hands

Numbers are terrible things. They float around, pretending they're bigger than other numbers and getting tangled in maths equations, but doing nothing truly useful. Numbers alone serve no purpose.

Addictive stat heavy gameplay ; Punchy combat ; Varied classes and abilities

Can feel like a slog at times

Samey combat can cause biff-fatigue to set in, but the nearly endless loot treadmill coupled with skills that are enjoyable to use make Heroes Of Ruin a dungeon that's fun to run.
