Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (PlayStation 3)

Capcom's shooter Lost Planet comes to the PlayStation 3 more than a year after its Xbox 360 debut, and it has a few extra goodies up its sleeve, such as more multiplayer maps and characters to tempt those who have never gone hunting for giant bugs in...

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (PS3)

With plenty of better polished shooters already on the market, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition fails to make another splash on a marketplace that once welcomed it with open arms.

Interesting enemy design; solid use of sound; unique visual atmosphere

Confusing story; bizarre gameplay quirks; chugging frame rate

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Xbox 360 owners have been playing Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for quite some time now. When the game was originally released players clamored into the frigid environment in search of heat and set out to kick alien butt. As we all know "exclusivity"...

If you played Lost Planet for the 360 then there frankly isn't any reason to spend time with the PlayStation 3 version. The original release stands out as the better version. With that being said if you're new to the game then by all means give this...

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Last year's popular 360 shooter suffers from a tepid port to the PS3.

Gorgeous style; unique blend of Western and Japanese design; most of the boss fights

A-to-B level design; mediocre AI; serious slowdown issues; lame bonuses; overall mixed experience

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Xbox 360 shooter lukewarm on PS3

Enormous bosses ; Anime-style mechs ; Grappling hook antics

Inferior visuals ; Corny story and acting ; Run-of-the-mill action

It’s a decent enough shoot-em-up - and the multiplayer is good, letting you fight both on-foot and in Vital Suits. But it doesn’t have enough new ideas or a sharp enough aiming system, while the story lacks depth. It's a Capcom game at heart - but time...

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

For almost a year now, gamers on the PC and Xbox 360 platforms have been running through the knee-deep snow fields of Lost Planet. When there was little hope of this title gracing the PlayStation 3 console, Capcom decided to release the game on the...

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

An original sci-fi shooter from the developers of Dead Rising, Lost Planet takes place in an arctic wasteland populated by aliens and a ragtag group of pirates. The world, E.D.N. III, is home to the Akrid, an insect-like race that is threatened by an encr

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

An unnecessary retread of one of last year's great titles. While still retaining much of the Xbox 360 version's features, it lacks any of the extra polish and content that the additional time in development could've brought.

Still a great title with a unique setting and all of the elements which made the 360 version an awesome title. The fact it contains all the 360 downloadable content is a nice addition

Jerky framerate and a lack of any new content detract from the game

More of the same.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Capcom's ice-cold shooter on the PS3.

Going into Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions, you should expect a polished shooter with big guns and big beasties. It looks good, plays well and is a bit too short. But it assumes that the online content will make up for that. So provided you can figure...
