Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Another year, another Marvel Ultimate Alliance review from me. Last year, I played the PSP version, and now it's time to play the home console versions and see how that experience differs from playing on the go. Although there's no number on the end...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is the result of two games' worth of experience on Raven Software's part, and it shows. Even the first game was good, and MUA is great. Every piece of the game is well-executed. The PS3 version of the game isn't the best of...

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Game Review - Playstation 3

The story of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is that Dr. Doom has cooked up a masterful evil plan to conquer the world (again). His plan is to infiltrate the Nordic heavens of Asgard along with his band of minions, kidnap the god Odin, and steal his powers....

To methodically beat all the side missions and unlock all the characters

The core game can be beaten in just a few days

Up to seventeen additional characters can be acquired depending on what platform you’re playing on, and in the Xbox 360’s case, whether you’re willing to shell out some extra cash on the Xbox Live Marketplace. A welcome addition to the Legends engine...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Also known as "Wolverine and Friends," Marvel Ultimate Alliance does, indeed, have a lot to marvel about. Ultimately, however, it smacks of been-here, done-this, got-the-t-shirt, washing-my-car-with-it.

You might find yourself referring to Marvel Ultimate Alliance as "That New Wolverine Game with a Bunch of Extra Superheroes in It" because, you know, Wolverine rules -- and you can play as him from the get-go.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

The greatest heroes of the Marvel Universe assemble, making for one fantastic adventure.

Great replay value; loads of unlockables; fun story; solid gameplay

Objectives are sometimes unclear; Sixaxis controls feel a bit dopey

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

It was only a few years ago during the height of the X-Men movies that Activision and Raven Software took on the challenge of creating an over the top

If you have gotten this game already on the 360, then there is no real reason to check it out on the PS3, as they are the same game. With that being said, if you were lucky enough to score a PS3 this holiday season and are looking for an RPG to wet...

Get ready for a fanboy's delight in this spandex-filled adventure

Great selection of superheroes ; Feels like a huge comics event ; Excellent unlockables and bonuses

Nothing new in the core gameplay ; Game conventions defeat heroes ; Set characters in cinematics

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Perhaps the most interesting feature about the game is the fact that every console will have its own unique set of features included in the game. The PSP will have exclusive prequel missions, while the GBA has the ability to call in a ‘striker' to...

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance review

Comic books games have gradually taken steps in the right direction towards building a new found respect. Starting with Spider-Man 2, the Marvel games in particular have blown up, with X-Men Legends and Ultimate Spider-Man. Both of these games made a...

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance takes what’s good from X-Men Legends, adds in more Marvel characters and does nothing else. The story itself is rather short, so the bulk of your play may be spent online with other players to find it more enjoyable. Marvel's...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance (PS3) review

Penultimate would have been more accurate rn

For the UK launch of the PlayStation 3 there are many more games that you can enjoy over this. As it is you'd be better off getting a genuine next-generation game rather than a shinier version of X-Men Legends.
