MLB 11: The Show Review

I have to say, for a PSP title, the game is very competent. For a simulation baseball game, you can't really beat MLB 11 The Show. For beginner players like me, it may take a few hours to get into the game.

Challenging game play ; Tons of options ; RTTS is a blast ; Upgrading your player is fun

Some wonky animations ; No playable tutorial ; Dialog gets reused early on

You know, I have never really followed America’s favorite pastime. So, you might guess that when I was asked to review MLB 11 The Show on the PSP, I was a little overwhelmed. I took a deep breath, booted up my PSP and began my first MLB game since Ken...

MLB 11: The Show (PSP) Review

The seventh iteration on the PSP, MLB 11 is a fun, though very familiar, take on America's pasttime. But is it worth your money? Read the review to find out!

MLB 07: The Show

Unfortunately, while MLB 07 The Show is an outstanding baseball game, it is a beefed up conversion from PS2. Basically, PS3 owners have exactly two choices – either you buy the prettier MLB 2K7, which features great visuals hampered by a cruddy...

MLB 07 The Show

We're well on our way into the baseball season but not every baseball game was released prior to the start of major league baseball. While MLB07 The Show was released for PSP and PlayStation 2 early on, the PlayStation 3 version didn't show up until...

Bugs and the average graphics make this an ok baseball game for the PlayStation 3.

MLB '07 The Show

With the 2007 baseball season well underway it seems kind of silly that Sony would release MLB 07: The Show as late as they did for the PlayStation 3. With the PlayStation 2 version ahead of the curve it seems almost redundant to head back with the...

MLB 07: The Show is a decent baseball game but it's not quite as good as it was on the PlayStation 2. What's worse is the amount of glitches that wind up here in just about every area of the game. They don't completely kill the experience but they do...

MLB 07 The Show

MLB 07 steps up to the plate (can a sports game review not use sports vocabulary to describe features? I propose a challenge – if I can't make it through the game without resorting to another baseball metaphor, I will give Dignews' first ever score of...

New game mode mixes things up a bit ; Looks great

Not a lot of changes from the last one ; Pitching can be pretty overwhelming

It's a solid game for baseball junkies, but it's paced like...well, a baseball game. You've got to be into it to get anything out of it.

MLB 07 The Show Review

Another sports game that is better on the last-gen system. Makes you wonder why you dropped $599, doesn't it?

Overall, MLB 07 The Show is a bit of a disappointment. It's still a fun game, especially if you haven't played the PlayStation 2 version (I still would choose it over MLB 2K7), but I expected more from this game. Given the ongoing issues, it is tough...

MLB 07 The Show

For awhile, I really didn't enjoy sports games. I mean, I was an RPGer and, on occasions, an FPSer. I wasn't supposed to enjoy sports games since the only people that played them were the jocks and those “evil” college frat guys, right? I stuck to my...

I can't recall having this much fun with any sports game in a long, long time.

MLB 07: The Show review for the PS3

Half pitcher, half belly itcher.

Road to the Show"; Tons of modes...; Solid mechanics

Except a much-needed tutorial mode; Weak graphics; Lag-filled online; Bug-filled offline

Sony's MLB 07: The Show gets exposed plenty by glitches, confusing controls, obscure rules and weak graphics. But it also knocks a solo shot out of the park: the "Road to the Show" mode that captures baseball's individual character. A beefed up version...

Product Specifications

Already widely considered the most authentic baseball simulation available, the franchise now introduces the all-new Road to The Show mode, enabling gamers to play both offense and defense from the created player's perspective. Providing an even more realistic experience from the mound, the all-new New Pitch Command System (PCS) delivers unsurpassed strategy to pitch selection, as a pitcher's "pitch comfort" will be predetermined based on a best to worst pitch scenario. It is up the gamer to decide if he/she should try to "work on a pitch" or just go with what is working. Additionally, with the Adaptive Pitching Intelligence (API) feature, catchers will call the game based on the individual strengths and weaknesses of each pitcher as well as analyze tendencies of batters. Gamers will now have the ability to either trust the pitches called by the catcher or shake them off. As more and more gamers are seeking quality online competition and content, MLB 07 The Show adds to its already robust online feature set and delivers Online League Play, which offers the ability to set up customizable leagues with up to 30 teams, complete with full stat tracking, point benefits and rewards. Additionally, the My Sliders feature allows users to create their perfect game settings and upload them to the MLB 07 The Show server for others to try out.
