Motorstorm Apocalypse Review

Can MotorStorm Apocalypse bring the thunder a third time or is it the end of the world for the series?

As of this writing, the PSN is back up. During that time online multiplayer hasn't been tested for review. MotorStorm Apocalypse features 16-player races, a ranking system, betting, medals and part challenges. As soon as the PSN is back online, I will...

MotorStorm Apocalypse

The MotorStorm series has been riding on the edge of greatness since its debut back in 2007. All of the games that have been released, two for the PlayStation 3 and one on the PlayStation Portable, have been “good” but fans are still waiting for that...

If you can’t tell from this glowing review, let me come out and say it plainly: I LOVE MotorStorm Apocalypse. The game is an absolute blast and a top-class production. Evolution has created the total package, from addicting and fun gameplay to...

Motorstorm Apocalypse (PS3) Review

After a minor delay we finally get our hands on the new entry into the Motorstorm series. Was the restoration of online gaming for the PS3 enough to save the Apocalyptic title, or are you better off going it alone? Find out inside.

When the Playstation 3 was first released I had to hold off a bit before making such a large purchase. While it was inevitable I was going to pick it up eventually, the high price tag and limited titles kept me at bay. It wasn't until they created the...

The end is hardly nigh

Amazing in-race graphics; great concept, fleeting thrills

Shallow and empty to the extreme; uneven production values/mediums; racing gameplay is poorly executed; tracks and environments are so busy that they become a frustrating liability; little variance between vehicles; horrendous single-player campaign story

Three Days, So Many More Races

Fun varied racing gameplay, great tracks

Disgraceful storyline, unbalanced multiplayer matchmaking

While the attempt at a story was a waste of time, the gameplay stands apart on the opposite end of the spectrum. What really seems to make the game stand apart from its counterparts in the genre are the races in themselves. The City, beset by every...

MotorStorm Apocalypse

The Racing genre has always been split between two camps: on one side are your highly accurate driving simulations and on the other the arcade racers. MotorStorm Apocalypse very firmly plants its flag square in the arcade camp, sets fire to it and then...

MotorStorm: Apocalypse Review

Destructive environments and excellent track design make MotorStorm: Apocalypse one of the most exciting racing experiences on the PlayStation 3.

Cleverly designed tracks ; Destructive events make each race a thrilling experience ; Beautiful visuals ; Lots of multiplayer options

Shallow storyline ; Boosting opponents feels weak

MotorStorm: Apocalypse

We race under falling skyscrapers and over demolished freeways in our MotorStorm: Apocalypse preview. (PS3)

In general, racing games don't do storylines. The focus is usually on speed, precision, environment and/or wacky powerups, and less on trying to conjure up a reason for it all.
