NHL 2K7 - PS3 review at Thunderbolt Games

Ice Hockey games are one of the most traditional sub-genres within our somewhat niche pastime, and have always served as a bastion of couch-bound fun amongst real-life friends, rather than the somewhat soulless push towards network play as an...

NHL 2K7 Review

2K Sports' hockey debut on the PS3 powers in for the big-time score.

NHL 2K7's graphics look undeniably next generation. Players look fantastic, with only an occasional missing animation coming up to mar their performance. The arenas look like the real deal, right down to the individual scoreboards and a crowd that...

The PS3's only hockey game is almost identical to the 360 version -- simple and easy to pick up, but not particularly deep.

Very pick-up-and-play friendly; new camera system immediately obsoletes old cameras; looks and sounds great

Repetitive strategies; only the slightest of facelifts from the 360 version; empty servers post-launch; weak use of the Sixaxis

With the Xbox 360 heralding the start of the next generation of consoles back in December 2005 it was hoped that sports games would be taken to a whole new level. In truth that hasn't really happened as yet. The game that's certainly come close to...

NHL 2K7 was a stunning game on the Xbox 360 and it's just as impressive on the PlayStation 3. Highly recommended for even the most casual of ice hockey fans

NHL shoots its way on the PlayStation 3 and takes the franchise to the next evolutionary stage with its improved gameplay and unique control system that will let players take command of tape-to-tape passing, behind-the-net plays and precision...

NHL 2K6 is a rather entertaining hockey game that although the first for the PlayStation 3, will probably not be the last and with entertaining gameplay and amazing graphics, a must have for sport fans and a real attempt at a next generation game.

Being on ice is nice, but not worth the price

The NHL 2K series has always had oddly grey-looking ice and player models that lack the vivid, chunky look of the sport- and thats still the case here. The dull looks aren't exactly endearing. Faces animate, but look like masks and all the players have...

NHL 2K7 on PS3

If I had spent £50 on this game I would be very disappointed. It has a reasonable game play very good graphics but it doesn't work for me.
