After catching lightning in a bottle with Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega intended NiGHTS into Dreams to be the next big thing for their fledgling Saturn. Sega was so confident in its success that they decided to bundle it with a brand new analog...

As a Saturn game, NiGHTS into Dreams under-delivered. Sixteen years later it's easy to see why, but that shouldn't keep you from playing through this bizarre dreamscape. Just be ready for some frustrating boss fights and linear flying stages!

Sega continues their trend of HD remakes. The question is how does their famous jester hold up?

Beautiful dreamlike levels ; Enticing mix of speed/precision needed ; HD remaster looks fantastic

Confusing objectives ; Somewhat jerky controls ; Not very many levels

I managed to miss NiGHTS when it was released in its earlier incarnations, whether it was the Saturn, Gamecube or PS2 versions, and I must say it's bloody great, it's a score attack game, a racing game, maybe even a little bit of a platforming game....
