Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD

Accept quest, leave town, complete quest, and return to town: this method of game progression has existed nearly as long as video games themselves have existed. Stranger’s Wrath HD employs the very same structure, replacing quests with bounties in its...

Despite showing its age, Stranger’s Wrath HD is still a wholly original, refreshing title when compared to many modern offerings. Though plagued by unneeded, light RPG trappings, Oddworld Inhabitant’s quirky first-person shooter offers a welcome,...

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD Review

Better bringing 'em in alive than dead.

Same great, hidden gem of a game; All the Oddworld personality and humor; In HD with new textures all over the place!; Stranger, one of the best characters in gaming

But controls and camera weren't fixed

At only $14.99, it's hard not to recommend this Xbox classic. You're guaranteed to be charmed by the characters and artwork and personality. Just Add Water lets the game speak for itself, despite dolling it up quite a bit.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD Review

The Oddworld games have always had an audience, even if it is a small one. The quirky characters and genuine humor have entertained fans since the original game debuted on the original PlayStation.

Quirky characters ; Story is excellent ; Live ammo is unique ; Great plot twist

Bounty missions become repetitive ; Controls take getting used to

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD Review

It's always tough reviewing older games that get a remake. There have been plenty of downloadable rereleases this year, though Stranger's Wrath HD is an entirely different and more wholesome remake effort than many this year, such as SEGA's rereleases...

The twist, and the way the game changes gears immediately afterwards.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD Review

I will admit that I didn't like direction the Oddworld series took after the first couple of installments on the PlayStation. What debuted as a beautifully drawn, highly imaginative puzzle-based adventure became a standard, ho-hum action platformer....

The Ugly: “Every flaw is slight…I just wish there were fewer slight flaws.”

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD Review

If you didn't play Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath in 2005 on Xbox, you can finally check it out on PSN.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is one of the more unique games to come out of the last generation. It may drag a bit at times and doesn’t do shooting or platforming amazingly well, but it blends the genres together into an almost always fun romp....

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD- PS3

If there's one franchise that is in dire need of a new entry, it's Oddworld. As we sit and watch annual releases of such high profiles properties as Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and Need for Speed, we haven't seen a new adventure in the Oddworld...

The HD remastering looks fabulous ; Quirky characters are endearing ; Gameplay still holds up really well

although the third person controls can be a little floaty at times

Re-releasing older games is always a positive as far as I’m concerned. At the minimum, it gives today’s players an opportunity to either re-experience the stories and characters they love, or visit these worlds for the first time. How these experiences...

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD- PS3

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD is a fun, unique shooter that's available at a great price. A few glitches take the shine off, but this is still a delight.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD- PS3

It] looks wonderful, with sharp new textures that really bring Oddworld Inhabitants' imaginative oddball world to life. Here's hoping that more gamers actually get to visit it this time around.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD- PS3

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD is an easy recommendation whether or not you've played it before - but especially if you haven't. Between its unique weapons, out-there world, and shocking late-game plot twist, there's a lot to really like even as it...
