Rock Band 2 Special Edition

MTV Games had a massive hit on its hands with the original Rock Band game, which added drums, bass, and a microphone to the winning Guitar Hero formula. Rock Band 2 keeps all the good parts of the original, but improves a bit on the instrumentsthe drum...

Improved instruments. Great mix of old and new songs. Excellent multiplayer options and customizability

Hardware takes up more space than your average game controller

Rock Band 2 provides loads of fun for imaginary rock stars of all ages, no matter what their skill levels or musical aesthetics might be.

Rock Band 2

Deja vu is really odd. You feel like you have seen or done something before, but then you slowly realise that you actually haven't. Rock Band 2 instills this same feeling. At first glance, it looks more like a rather expensive add-on instead of a full...

Let There Be Rock

This game truly is one of the best franchises of the last few years, and while RB2 certainly doesn't offer any mindblowing changes, it's still just as fun to play as it was the day I first opened the box. Can't wait for the next 20 songs to be...

Rock Band 2 Review for the PS3

Wild, sweet, solid, and Hell Yeah!

Online World Tour; Better peripherals; Better interfaces; Better song list

Detached vocalist; No detailed stats

Usually, I try to write a witty intro, a follow-the-joke personal anecdote, an insightful comment on the industry at large, or an off-tangent “What does this have to with anything?” observation that somehow resolves itself by the last paragraph. It’s...

Rock Band 2 Wireless Guitar and Drums Hardware Review

Just like the actual Rock Band 2 game, the new Rock Band 2 peripherals work more at refining the experience than redefining it. The wireless guitar and wireless drum kit add a bit of freedom from tripping and crashing into coffee tables, as well as...

Rock Band 2 @ E3 '08

A sunburst guitar body and a wood grain neck and headstock move Rock Band 2 toward a more real-world band experience compared to the plain black and white design of the first game. Additionally, less clacky fret buttons and a more responsive strum bar...

Rock Band 2 review

To be completely honest, some would say I have a severe Rock Band addiction. They'd be wrong, of course, but the original Rock Band was undeniably fun and it's hard to ask for more. But, millions did and Harmonix didn't fail to deliver in the slightest.

If you're a fan of Rock Band to say that this game is a must-buy is a huge understatement, everything about this game is an improvement over the first. Harmonix allowing the downloadable content to work seamlessly, giving users the option to export...

Rock Band 2 Review

Rock Band revolutionised the music game genre. However, with so many sequels available, how much does this title improve upon it's predecessor?

Huge song list ; Online Band World Tour ; Better Single player progression

Too conservative ; Very hard last tracks ; No new instruments in Europe yet

"Rock Band 2" has managed to pull off something that I guess almost no-one expected- an improved experience over last year. Over twice as many songs ship on disk as last year, and online world tour is here.

Less "clickity" than RB1 guitar, still "clackity"

The guitars seem to be hit or miss on their resilience. I have one that has taken at least three drops onto concrete and other than some scuffs, it has continued working perfectly. Another was sitting upright against a chair and fell over onto soft...

Overall quieter than the RB1 guitar (you'll know what I mean in the title of this comment once you try this guitar after coming from a Rock Band 1 guitar). Wireless dongle has two additional USB ports for chaining devices which is a nice addition....

It seems like 1 out of 4 of these things has something rattling around inside of it. Usually I've found it's just a piece of glue that's come loose. It's a little intimidating opening it the first time (partially because I think it voids the warranty...
