Rock Band (PlayStation 3)

Rock Band does a superb job of bringing out the wannabe rock star in all of us, and creates one of the best party-game experiences of all time.

Rock Band 3

Still rocking after all this time. Before we even begin this review I want to make it clear that we DID NOT have access to two of the major bullet...

Streamlined menu system ; Challenges are addictive ; Solid set list

Some songs fall flat- Didn't get to try out new instruments

Rock Band 3

Rock Band has been a genre defining experience ever since it made its debut back in 2006. No other Music-based videogame has captured the masses worldwide quite like Rock Band. No longer was it all about battling the computer-controlled A.I. characters...

Rock Band 3

Two years on from the release of Rock Band 2, the much-anticipated sequel finally has hit the shelves, offering not only a new instrument but the possibility of changing the face of rhythm games as we know them and maturing the genre for a new...

Rock Band 3

The music industry is filled with albums we'll never forget. The Beatle's Abbey Road defined a generation in transition. Michael Jackson's Thriller announced the arrival of a new standard. Nirvana's Nevermind was the voice of a changing American...

There's no reason to unlock a slew of songs. I would like to see the ability to unlock all customization options, like t-shirts and gear. Come on, I want to outfit my 80 pound, afro sporting guitar player in the latest duds!

Harmonix makes learning fun by further blurring the line between education and entertainment.

Excellent track list; filtering songs is a breeze; keyboard is a great addition; Pro modes are fun challenges; career mode is smoothly integrated

Pro Guitar peripheral feels cheap; odd bundle choices; not nearly enough songs with keyboard support

Rock Band 3 Review for the PS3

We're getting the band back together.

Pro Keys; Pro Guitar/Bass; Streamlined menu interfaces; Better avatar customization; Combined quick play and career

Not the best teaching tool; Some interface issues with Pro note track

Rock Band 3 (Xbox 360)

The visuals aren't mindblowing, but look good. Character models aren't as cartoony, but do maintain their same stylized looks. Animation is gorgeous, and characters interact on stage as they should, though the game still doesn't animate between...

Same winning brand of addictive gameplay; excellent track list; solid new instruments, with the keyboard being the highlight; innovative Pro mode changes literally everything; migration of additional franchise innovations, such as vocal harmonies;...

New instruments are pricey; steep learning curve for Pro mode, which might prevent players from committing to it; game is still technically four player, though it allows for seven people to play along

Rock Band 3 review

The music genre hasn’t changed a lot over the course of the last five years. Rock Band 3 attempts a few changes that could make this game stand out from the crowd. First, it adds a new instrument (the keyboard), but it also adds a “real” guitar. That’s...

While I was a big fan of The Beatles: Rock Band, I do not think there is any doubt that Rock Band 3 is the best game in the proper Rock Band franchise (i.e. 1, 2 and 3). You get 83 songs, as well as all of the downloads that you previously purchased...
