Saints Row 2

Chaos has returned to Stillwater. Two years after the original debut, Saints Row 2 arrives on consoles with all of the over-the-top bloodlust and mayhem you would expect. The first time around, Saints Row had the good fortune to appear before Rockstar...

Saints Row 2 retains everything that made the original a great addition to the sandbox-city crime genre, and tweaks it even further. If GTAIV is the granddaddy of the genre, then Saints Row 2 is the young, brash upstart making a lot of noise to draw...

Saints Row 2

Silly, outrageous, profane, excessively violent, very naughty, and unapologetically so. “One can never be too rich as to throw away a homie.” Thoughtful Dialogue. Charming Characters. Epic Storyline. Sweeping Soundtrack….Not...

Exceptional Character Creation ; Tons of Missions, Activities and Diversions ; Tons of Customization ; Laugh out Loud funny (if you have a somewhat sick sense of humor)

A few collision detection issues ; Colors appear washed out at times

Saints Row 2: Corporate Warfare DL..

Ain't a damn thing changed.

You get to kill mimes. Seriously mimes. What part of mimes did you not understand

Short, stunt diversion is wonky, eventually the mime killing stops

It's a shame that the DLC for such a great game had to leave on such a value-less note, but hey, if you haven't beaten the main game, unlimited rocket ammo may just be worth seven bucks. Still though, I'll always fondly remember the times I spent...

Saint's Row 2

Saint's Row 2 starts just after the end of the original game in a prison hospital, and you are quickly given the task of breaking out. This mission serves as a tutorial to the game's basics, but also as a catalyst to the story. You play as the leader...

Sadly, there's no cheat to unlock all of the customization features for your player. The developers gave players the chance to access any car or gun from the beginning of the game - why not all of the clothes?

Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2 leaves me of two minds. What can be said about a title that takes the formula of Grand Theft Auto, strips out all of the grand storytelling, morphs smarmy satire into obvious parody, and goes straight for the prurient interest? This is the...

Sandbox is quite fun to play in ; Customization ; Co-Op adds a new level of fun

The story is pretty much a disposable part of the game

The power of freedom beats out substance. Not for everyone, but still worth a look.

Saints Row 2

Saint's Row came on to the scene at a very opportune time. Grand Theft Auto IV had been delayed for at least a year, so anyone needing a fix had a new franchise to turn to. Surprisingly, Saint's Row wasn't nearly as awful as other games that tried the...

Saints Row 2

Another entry into the go-anywhere, do-anything, simulated criminal behavior in a sandbox genre, THQ's Saints Row 2 is so flagrant in its courtship with controversy that it all comes off as quaint.

A sandbox full of cat feces is a sandbox just the same, and as a game, Saints Row 2, you play in it as a personally customized thug (or thuggette) waking in a penitentiary infirmary to find your old gang, the 3rd Street Saints, has disbanded. Well,...

Saints Row 2 (PS3)

I've been reviewing games for 16 years. The entire time, I've tried to avoid using the word "fun" because it's so subjective. It's a fine concept when you're just shooting the breeze with friends. But as a critical observation, it's simply not helpful....

Saints Row 2

It's a hard knock life as you take on rival gangs in order to once again lay claim to the city of Stilwater.

Co-op play is loads of fun; jam-packed with content; good shooting and driving mechanics; intelligent GPS

Low-brow humor gets old rather quickly; graphical glitches and collision detection issues; no talk radio

Saints Row 2 Review for the PS3

Working overtime to piss off Jack Thompson.

Much larger than the original game; More than 40 solid hours of gameplay; Great choice of voice actors including Neil Patrick Harris (NPH!); Works hard to earn its M rating; Zombie Uprising; Excellent music selection

Occasional visual glitch; Sometimes braindead A.I
