Silent Hill HD Collection

With the recent surge in the popularity of re-releasing older games with remastered visuals, it's surprising it took so long for Konami to jump on this particular bandwagon. Silent Hill 2 and 3 are two of my favorite installments in the series, and...

Really, my biggest complaint is the total lack of any extras. There are no featurettes, viewable cinematics, music, nothing. It's disappointing. Konami really dropped the ball on giving their fans, many of which have stuck with the series for well over...

In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill.” When gamers were introduced to the haunted, foggy town in 1999, they were treated to a

It truly is a shame that this collection doesn’t come with a whole lot of content. Talk about a wasted opportunity! If you compare this set with, say, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (which came with three disc-based games AND Metal Gear 1 and 2),it...

Silent Hill HD Collection Review

That's two Silent Hills for the price of... no, must not... be... seduced....

Both still very scary; Silent Hill 3 looks amazing; Strong narratives and characters, especially in 2; Challenging puzzles

Has “classic” control/camera issues; Silent Hill 2’s graphics haven’t aged well; “Click on everything” approach to item collection; Technical glitches, especially for PS3 version

Both are still great games and worth checking out if you haven’t played them, as I hadn’t. Still, the control scheme and camera are old school, and not in a positive way. Objectives are sometimes unclear and the PS3 version chugs like no one’s business...

Silent Hill HD Collection

It's been tough as a Silent Hill fan, watching Konami poison what once was the reigning champion of the survival horror genre. Even if you enjoy some of the sequels and spin-offs that have been produced over the years, there's no denying that the...

Incomplete, glitchy, and visually degraded, Silent Hill HD Collection is Konami's greatest insult to the series.

Silent Hill HD Collection Review

Konami rights its recent wrongs by bringing back the past. This collection of classics represents the genre's best.

Silent Hill HD Collection reminds adults that, like children, they have deep, irrational fears. Silent Hill 2 remains a modern masterpiece, and the HD Collection proves it will stand the test of time regardless of technical or control constraints....

Silent Hill HD Collection Review

What's next? HD collections are all the rage, and it is only time before we see every game from generations past re-imagined for today's audience. That said, not all games will fare as well with today's different...

Both games retain their creepiness ; New voices are well done ; The music is incredible

Graphical issues ; Puzzling omissions ; Games lack direction

Silent Hill HD Collection Review

Silent Hill HD Collection features two very fine, albeit extremely unpleasant and not super accessible, games. It’s nowhere near as polished as Konami’s other recent compilation, the brilliant MGS HD collection, and going by most reports and...

Two effective, genuinely scary horror games; A chance for newcomers to experience both games; Some of the touch-ups are welcome; Amazing soundtracks

A lazy collection; The fog in SH2 looks awful; More stutters and pauses than there should be; Can be very hard to get into if you’re new to these games; Movement controls could have done with a tweak

Silent Hill HD Collection- PS3

This is ultimately an exercise in disappointment. The two best entries into the Silent Hill series have been unsuccessfully remastered, bizarrely leaving them in worse shape than ever before. Classics of their time, and still well worth experiencing,...

Silent Hill HD Collection- PS3

The inconsistent presentation, compromises to the original developer's vision, and lack of any interesting bonus features make this compilation's $40 price even more unnerving than its games.

Silent Hill HD Collection- PS3

Silent Hill HD Collection is a wonderful trip down memory lane for those that played the originals, and it stands as a masterclass in the horror genre for anybody that didn't. I'm confident that Silent Hill 2 will be held up as one of the greatest...
