Soldier of Fortune: Payback

The Soldier of Fortune franchise has always held a special place in my heart. Not because it was a well-designed shooter or because it had a deep and engaging story....

Tons And Tons Of Gore ; Great Environments

Frame Rate Hiccups ; Multi-Player Is Shallow

Soldier of Fortune: Payback

In short, it’s about as good as you’d expect a game from Activision Value to be. Despite the over the top violence, the game is merely average in all respects. Even the gore effects, which is what the series has been known for barely matches the first...

Soldier of Fortune: Payback

Payback ain't much of a bitch in this tepid first-person shooter

Familiar controls ; Mindless entertainment ; The (lack of) difficulty level

Been there, done that feeling ; Boring graphics ; Buying the game instead of renting it

Soldier of Fortune: Payback

This insipid military shooter offers a bag of entrails and not much else.

Not the worst-looking game ever seen

Some of the worst everything else ever seen

Soldier of Fortune Payback Review

So how is Soldier of Fortune Payback? Stay very far away from this game.

Spend your hard earned $60 on something better (like 90% of the other FPS out there).  If you are one of the very few who do not own Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, buy that game instead. Do not waste your time or hard-earned money with Soldier of...

Soldier of Fortune: Payback

The Good: Gore, and lots of it (if you consider that a good thing); interesting graphics; tons of weapons. The Bad: Unpopular multiplayer; very short campaign The Ugly: Stupid AI, single player maps very linear, utter destruction of the enjoyable SoF...

For some unknown reason Activision took a pretty respectable franchise (I still play SoF2 from time to time to this day, and it is still installed on my PC), and chucked it in the garbage. They've clearly created a budget title, and then added insult...

Soldier of Fortune: Payback Review

2007 has without a doubt been the year of the shooter. From the incredibly creative BioShock to the insanely addictive Call of Duty 4, the yearnings of shooter fans from all console camps have been appropriately satiated with brilliant games to play....

Excessive dismemberment is surprisingly hilarious

A cohesive story is nearly non-existent ; Terrible A.I. litters the entire game ; The multiplayer is incredibly bland

Soldier of Fortune: Payback is like a poor man's Call of Duty 4 - for the same price.

NBA Street Homecourt For The PS3: Why Shoot When You Can Dunk?

When the original NBA Street debuted for the PS2, I was immediately a fan. It was like a new wave version of one of my favorite arcade games of all time, NBA Jam. It utilized a street ball theme and played at an insane speed with the cool factor raised...

Graphics, fast paced fun

Blowing The Easy Slam - NBA Street Homecourt

We're over a year into our new generation of game consoles, and even now sports games are suffering from leprosy, with features simply falling off the disc compared to their cheaper "last generation” versions. NBA Street Homecourt, the 4th edition ...

No Bobbito Garcia!!!!!! Oh yeah, nice twist on Gamebreakers

Dull, dumbed-down, and about 100 steps back from the greatness of Vol. 2
