Spider-Man 3

Games based on comic books or movies are usually never a good combination; now imagine a game that combines both and you are probably getting that weird queasy sensation in...

Tons Of Things To See And Do ; Web Swinging Is Still A Blast ; Improved Combat System

Horrendous Camera System ; Missions Become Tedious Fast ; Graphics Are Sometimes Last-Gen

Spider-Man 3

As multi-platform games go, Spider-Man 3 does a lot of things right, but just doesn't completely feel comfortable on the PS3 with its sub-par graphics and weighty fighting. It helps that this version of the game was designed for the Xbox 360 and...

Spider-Man 3

Before most video games come out, the dedicated souls behind them often spend months, sometimes years, perfecting their product. When it comes to licensed games, you will rarely see that kind of commitment. Someone like Cliffy B. might live and breath...

A superhero sandbox ; Spider-Man's detailed animations

Overcrowded story ; Some truly unpolished cut-scenes

For any seasoned gamer, the idea of playing a licensed video game, movie or not, probably sends a shiver down their spine. If there has been one constant, since the dawn of video games until the current, it is that, with very few exceptions, they tend...

Spider-Man 3 - PS3 review at Thunderbolt Games

With Treyarch at the helm for their fourth installment of the franchise on home consoles, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Spider-Man 3 could be a no-brainer purchase for any fans of the series. Some excellent headway was made with the release of...

Spider-Man 3 Collectors Edition

Comic book characters have had a long, varied history in video games. Some, such as Superman, have never had a good game to call their own. Others, like the X-Men have several top-notch games on multiple platforms. Spider-Man has had a few successes...

The Conclusion: The basic mechanics of Spider-Man 3 are good enough that fans of the character, and especially fans of the last game, should give this one a try. However, poor camera controls, obnoxious mini-games that prevent forward progress, and...

Spider-Man 3

I'm a huge comic fan. To say everything Spider-Man 3 related has been a letdown for me would be an understatement. (Don't even get me started on Peter Parker's Panic at the Disco! Music video...)

Spider-Man 3 isn’t a bad game, it's just disappointing. With little improvements upon the previous title, not much has changed. What has changed, unfortunately, is often for the worse. For Spider-Man fans, give it a shot. For non-fans, fuggetaboutit.

Spider-Man 3

Is it that time again, already? Time for the obligatory blockbuster movie, timed to a blocks-a-bustin', simultaneously-released tumble of licensed games for every platform under the sun? You bet your Spider-sense it is...

Spider-Man 3 is actually the fourth Spider-Man game from development studio, Treyarch (two movie- and two stand-alone Spidey games date), and this here Spider-Man 3 game comes out swinging. The thing is, however, while it looks and plays adequately ...

Spider-Man 3 Review for the PS3

Lots of story telling; Great animation

Combat sucks; As do non-combat missions; Terrible pacing; You don't feel strong; New Goblin, no fun

As a movie tie-in game, it seems appropriate that Spider-Man 3 demonstrates an old Hollywood lesson: pouring all your money into visual effects is no substitute for good form and substance. This game looks like the real thing, but it has the...

Tangled Web

Spidey's next-gen outing has its moments, but they're sandwiched between bouts of frustration.

Throwaway combat, a horrid indoor camera, frustrating missions and a general lack of respect for the characters and comic source material mean you have a game that looks fairly good, but doesn't really do justice to the property it's all based on.

Spider-Man 3 Review

Major missteps send Marvel's web-slinger into a brick wall.

The in-game camera can't hide its problems -- it just plain sucks. During combat, enemies appear from nowhere, and the camera angles don't adjust quickly enough to let the player deliver due diligence with precision. The camera also gets stuck on...
