Syndicate (PlayStation 3)

If you're a fan of 1993's beloved strategy game , you might see the new series reboot as heresy. But if you've dismissed the new Syndicate because you think it sullies the franchise, you're doing yourself a disservice. That's because 2012's Syndicate...

Back in 1993, Peter Molyneux (ofFable fame) produced a game with Bullfrog Productions called Syndicate. The idea was simple: in the not-too-distant-future you control a squad of four super-soldiers called "agents" whose goal was to sabotage rival...

Unfortunately, I can't comment too much on the co-op, although it's billed as a big part of the experience. I played a couple of the levels with a buddy. They are separate from the campaign but follow many of the same locales. The idea here is that you...

Time to put down the revolution as you have become an agent of the Eurocorp mega-corporation in the new first-person shooter, Syndicate, based on the top down strategy game series for the PC in the 1990's. Jeffrey Harris checks in with his full review...

Syndicate turns out to be a pretty decent game, but not all too memorable. This game would work best as an over the weekend rental since you can play and finish it rather quickly. The game has a solid story and presentation, and the hacking techniques...

Though the game uses way too much in the way of blinding lights and blues, Syndicate performs remarkably well throughout the experience. The kill animations are cool, and the rest of the world acts realistic and impressively.

The rest of the trainer is your average shooter trainer stuff, instant upgrade points, no reload. It all works -- it's just all expected.

Good game play ; Amazing customization options ; Thought out and intelligent co-op ; Interesting world

The single player is somewhat short ; Overuse of light bloom ; Glitches in the co-op ; Tedious boss battles in single player

I really don’t have fond memories of the very first Syndicate, or any memories at all, actually. I never even knew the game existed until this game was announced. Luckily, you don’t need to know much (or anything) for that matter, about the first game...

Syndicate strives for singular sci-fi greatness and settles for expertise in the area of cooperative gameplay. It's unlikely that critics will recommend this one on the strength of the campaign alone, which is often bland and lacks a gripping...

Starbreeze Studios reimagines Bullfrog's classic strategy game of corporate takeovers as a first person shooter. So how is it?

Syndicate Review

Syndicate's cooperative play is undeniably thrilling. Too bad the single-player campaign doesn't reach the same heights.

Fantastic, nail-biting cooperative play ; Aggressive AI keeps the pressure on ; Online progression system gives you reasons to return ; Smooth animations and great sci-fi atmosphere ; Gunplay and hacking lead to thrills

Weak storytelling wastes the cool setting ; Mediocre, poorly-paced campaign ; Ridiculously oversaturated lighting effects impede gameplay

That all sounds deliciously gory, though in practice, you're not focused on the splattering of brains: you've already moved on to your next target. Some of those targets may require breaching, which is to say, hacking your target's chip. Powerful...

Starbreeze Studios certainly turned heads when it unveiled its progress on a brand-new Syndicate game, although attached to many of those heads were scowling faces sporting sneers of disgust. Syndicate is yet another classic PC game that has...

But you won't get anything else.
