Tom Clancy's HAWX Review [PS3, X360]

In the world of gaming combat, Tom Clancy's name is branded on just about every genre of action and war game that there is. It began with the Rainbow Six series that evolved into the best tactical shooter series to date, the advanced first person Ghost...

Play fully assisted or fully unassisted ; Unlock the latest in 5th generation air combat ; Lengthy campaign able to be played cooperatively online ; Excellent controls and graphics ; Excellent concept and story ; Lots of different modes and views to...

Versus multiplayer requires that you compete with only the best jets and weapons ; Mission replay video hard to follow

The Tom Clancy world expands into advanced high altitude warfare bringing with it some excellent game play and some competition to Ace Combat 6.

Ubisoft flies high with this mostly successful airborne debut for the Tom Clancy franchise.

Tom Clancy's HAWX

Great arcade flight combat experience, with a solid online community to back it up.

Visually, HAWX has some really impressive vistas on display, but getting in close to objects or cities makes everything look generic and bland. Then again, you should be more focused on blowing stuff up, so it's a pretty minor thing to take note of....

Tom Clancy's HAWX

This arcade-style aerial-combat game has plenty to offer those flying solo, but it doesn't offer much in the way of competitive multiplayer content.

Realistic planes and environments ; Great, action-packed dogfighting ; Believable audio really enhances the experience

Limited multiplayer modes ; Ground textures look ugly up close ; Planes all handle similarly ; Friendly AI isn't great

Tom Clancy's HAWX is a rewarding arcade aerial-combat experience that looks and sounds every bit as good as it plays. The controls, and in particular the ERS innovation, make dogfighting in iconic planes over famous cities as accessible as it is...

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.

All of this makes for a very playable action game, even if what you're actually doing is largely that same-old shooty planes stuff we've been doing for years.

Tom Clancys H.A.W.X. (2009)

Cleverly blending the wartime tales woven by EndWar and Ghost Recon, the latest game inspired by Tom Clancy's testosterone-fuelled fiction takes the fight to the skies and is the closest to Top Gun most console players will ever come.

Tom Clancy's HAWX

Tom Clancy tends to get his name on a lot of video games these days, not bad for a novelist who's probably never even touched a 360 pad by choice. He's done everything from tactical squad warfare in Ghost Recon, stealth espionage in Splinter Cell and...

Exciting and fun game-play ; Stunning environments ; Lots of unique and detailed jets ; Innovative ERS system ; Co-op mode ; Unique viewpoint options ; Customisable difficulty

Poor team mate AI ; Clichéd Story ; Ground detail is poor up close ; Samey plane handling

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. Is a great addition to his franchise. It's easy to pick up and very hard to put down. The few flaws it does possess can be forgiven as it excels in other departments. The optional addition of ERS makes the game accessible to all...

Tom Clancy's HAWX- PS3

If you aren't into a hardcore simulation, but just wanna go out and shoot bad guys down, this is the game for you. I enjoy the ultra-realistic sims, but every so often, you just gotta let it all out and dogfight. The storyline is ancillary, but...

Scenery is awesome-you can download patches to get better graphics when you get closer to the ground ; Assistance OFF mode-I disagree with coldconditions--I like the fact that I can stall out and do crazy manuevers

Short single player ; High variety of aircraft, but not all that realisitc...A-10s can go supersonic in the game ; Can't customize weapons packages
