Transformers: Dark of the Moon (PlayStation 3)

Another Transformers movie means another Transformers game. For many longtime fans, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and the other robots in disguise are special characters, and hope endures that someday, a Transformers game will come along that does them...

Sigh.

Voices are still done by some of the original cast

To be perfectly blunt, Optimus is getting a bit long in the tooth – you can really hear the dentures clicking away whenever he gets a line ; Transformers look incredibly stupid, not to mention generic and nearly indistinguishable. Just like the last...

Transformers: Dark of the Moon serves as a textbook demonstration how video games based on movies or franchised licensed properties are seldom if ever a good thing. Even if the developers were responsible for a decent game in the past, and in this...

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

To be honest I am not sure why anyone would expect Transformers: Dark of the Moon to be a good movie, let alone a good film-based video game. The depths of poor quality become quite apparent from putting the game into the PS3 and actually seeing the...

It has Transformers

Bland graphics ; Boring gameplay ; Long install time

These games are essentially just the modern version of the novelizations that used to coincide with summer blockbusters. Essentially its production only exists to be a commercial for the movie, and it always shows in the quality. As I have always said,...

What you see is what you get.

Be the Bot you want to be; Transform instantly and often; Shoot tons and tons of enemies

But get bored by the end of the campaign; Only 8 bots in multiplayer?!; Either Bumblebee is really good at dodging... or this game is broken

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Rev..

High Moon Studios transforms from brand savior into another cheap licensed culprit.

Complex but comfortable controls, simple to play

Redundant narrative, unnecessary combat additions, lacks personality

Transformers Dark of the Moon Review

High Moon Studios returns to do the movie tie-in game for Transformers Dark of the Moon. The movie releases June 29 and the game released June 14th, 2011.

Fun to play but the short campaign, due to being a movie tie-in, was disappointing.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Review

Last year's War for Cybertron is considered by many as the greatest Transformers game ever created. With that said, it was nearly impossible for High Moon Studios to one-up themselves with the inevitable sequel.

Plays great ; Competitive online still rocks

Removal of all co-op modes ; Short campaign ; Story is uninteresting

Last year’s War for Cybertron is considered by many as the greatest Transformers game ever created. With that said, it was nearly impossible for High Moon Studios to one-up themselves with the inevitable sequel. Dark of the Moon takes a lot of the...

No power, no touch. Stan Bush would be disappointed.

Gamers were treated to a decent Transformers video game last summer. Seriously, it was pretty damn fun and entertaining with a deep multiplayer mode as well as offering three player online co-op through the single-player campaign. High Moon Studios,...

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - The Game Review

The fundamentals for a good game are here, but Dark of the Moon stretches too little game too far.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon feels like another casualty in the movie-game war of short deadlines. The ideas for something great are certainly here, because the fundamentals were pulled from a great game. But Transformers: Dark of the Moon stretches...

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Review

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a short and shallow shooter that fails to deliver on the potential of its beloved license.

Crashing into enemies and sending them flying is fun ; Each Transformer has unique abilities

Ugly, dated visuals ; Strange vehicle physics ; Short, repetitive campaign

The same can be said of the entire game. The seven-chapter campaign is over quickly and leaves you feeling like nothing has been resolved. It's more of a commercial for the upcoming film than a story in its own right. Walking through levels blasting...
