UFC Undisputed 3 (PlayStation 3)

While UFC Undisputed games have always offered great mixed martial arts action, UFC Undisputed 3 is the first in the series that also succeeds outside of the octagon. It's also a significantly more accessible game than its predecessors, so you don't...

UFC Undisputed 3

After a near-two year absence, the Undisputed series is back with the best overall MMA game yet. After the second Undisputed game, EA's entry on the genre came out and raised the bar when it came to created fighter sharing, delivering a fun career...

The only issue I have with the audio is the lackluster choice of theme music - granted, they had hundreds of songs to put in, but the music is largely pretty boring aside from some songs, like Wanderlei Silva's PRIDE music being wonderfully wacky....

UFC Undisputed 3 (360, PS3) Review

Was the two year wait worth THQ's latest MMA title? Find out inside.

New weight classes and over 100 fighters ; Pride mode feels like an entirely separate game ; Improved presentation ; Detailed graphics ; Revamped career mode ; New submission system ; Solid online play

No save mode in Title Defense mode

UFC Undisputed 3 is far and away the best game in the series, and it’s obvious that taking a year off worked. The game certainly feels familiar, but it’s the subtle things they changed that make the most difference. It’s a well-rounded experience that...

UFC Undisputed 3 Review

THQ decided to spend two years working on UFC Undisputed 3. For a sport like MMA, the subtle things are key, so the extra time is very much needed to get things right. Although Undisputed 2010 improved on its predecessor, the nudge forward was minimal....

Cry in the dojo. Laugh on the battlefield.

Overall improvements to fighting system; Better, understandable submission system; All-around higher difficulty; Pride FC; Less stat management in Career mode; Wealth of new modes and CAF; Online fight camps and creation uploads

Mini-games are not well-explained

UFC Undisputed 3 takes no prisoners. Even though the franchise remains as imposing as ever, it's nigh-impossible to claim that this installment is not a staggering improvement. Short of bludgeoning and bloodying us over the head, UFC Undisputed 3 will...

UFC Undisputed 3 Review

UFC Undisputed 3 raises the bar for MMA games and is harder to put down than a heavyweight champ.

New submission system rewards skill rather than speedy stick rotation ; Comprehensive tutorials make MMA accessible to all ; Career mode now focuses on fights and fight preparation ; It's fun to rewrite history in Ultimate Fights mode ; Option to share...

Lengthy Title Defense mode lacks a save option ; Clicking through TV-style intros and such takes too long

In UFC 3 you typically get to choose one of five opponents for your next fight and then get just two training sessions beforehand, which you can choose to spend improving your skills and physical attributes, or visiting camps to learn and level up...

Its always intimidating learning about an unfamiliar, but wildly popular topic. Watching your first football game without knowing what a first down is, learning a foreign language or picking up...

Great introduction to the sport ; Fluid, responsive controls ; Career mode is more realistic, less stat-heavy

Can't change difficulty in career mode ; No tutorials for training drills

last month. When I walked away, two things had changed. First, I learned what the term “ground game” means. Second, I was a fan of both the sport of mixed martial arts and the work that THQ has done on behalf of it.

It's probably outside the scope of a video game review to talk about the downfall of boxing as a major spectator sport and the rise of mixed martial arts, and whether those two things happening simultaneously is somehow connected. Suffice it to say...

UFC Undisputed 3 is an all-around major improvement over previous games in the series. The roster is more well-rounded, the visuals and audio have been improved, and the gameplay is more balanced with a wider range of options. Despite issues with the...

UFC Undisputed 3 Preview

UFC is one of the fastest rising sports on the planet. If you're a member of the ever-increasing fan base, you're likely interested in UFC Undisputed 3, which is set to launch on February 14. Featuring an overhauled Career Mode that emphasizes a...

There’s one final addition that seems cool to me— Yuke’s is tossing in footage from real fights, along with fighter interviews. These replace the cut-scenes from previous entries and should give the game an even more authentic feel. UFC Undisputed 3...
