Vanquish Review

Platinum Games has been making quite a name for themselves and for good reason. Formed by members of Capcom's long-gone Clover Studio and led by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, Platinum Games has already gained a reputation for taking familiar...

Once again, Platinum Games has taken what’s been done before, mix it all together, and make for a fun game with Vanquish. However, like their previous title Bayonetta, they’re still missing a quality narrative to make for a completely amazing...

Classic, fast-paced action that rarely lets up. On the surface Vanquish looks like just another humdrum space shooter featuring a nameless protagonist that will get lost somewhere between the latest...

Fast-paced action ; Rock solid frame rate ; Stylish combat ; Spot-on controls

Goofy voice acting ; Definitely a short ride

Vanquish Review [PS3/360]

God, Vanquish is fast. It might take a while to sink in – the tutorial is a tad annoying, so what you can do doesn't really register and subsequently you get perhaps fifteen seconds' control in the middle of a very long cutscene before the first...

Excellent combat ; Fantastic visuals ; Plenty of replay value ; So fast

Main campaign is pretty short ; Reuses enemies ; Some nasty difficulty spikes

Vanquish is a little short on content, but it's still a breathtakingly exciting shooter where those prepared to put the time in to master it will love it to bits.

Vanquish is to the videogame industry what Independence Day is the movie industry. A thrill ride from beginning to end that will have players wondering what's around that corner and how things simply couldn't get any worse. Published By Sega and...

What's this? Another cover based third person shooter a la Gears of War? Before all the outcries start, this game does have unique twists. For one, it's created by those who gave us Bayonetta, so expect some serious bat-poop craziness. With a main...

Vanquish is by no means a perfect game. It won't win Game of the Year, and it probably won't make a lasting impression in the roster of video games that have been released. It is, however, a very reasonably fun game that is worth playing until the end.

If you are looking to be enthralled by a new world full of intricacies to discover, Vanquish is not the fully formed video game you are looking for. If you are looking for a challenge with a fun and fast paced battle experience, Vanquish is definitely...

The father of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry has joined forces with the studio that is responsible for Bayonetta to create an action fest unlike anything we've seen before.

Bayonetta lacked a compelling story, however it at least had a unique main character one could stare at in awe and fascination. Sam is not unique, and neither is he very interesting. That's something that would be forgivable would it not be for the...

Vanquish (X360) Review

A DARPA agent joins US forces to prevent Russian ultra-nationalists from devastating the United States.

A group calling themselves the Order of the Russian Star has overthrown the Russian government and hijacked an orbiting space station owned by the United States. DARPA agent Sam Gideon and US forces are called into action after the Order uses the...

Let's cut right to the chase; I liked Vanquish a lot more than I thought I would. That turned out to be a double edged sword though as the more I played through the game, the more hopeful I got, and the more I was let down. It's a slick action game...

I'd love to see a cheat with unlimited ARS abilities, or unlimited ammo. It just seems like a missed opportunity here in Vanquish.

Forget the realism. It's time to battle in outer space the old-fashioned way.

Since your suit’s rocket-powered kneepads and mêlée attacks draw from the same power source, you’re always risking becoming suddenly vulnerable to the bullet-hell going on around you. So it’s critical to keep your arsenal well-rounded, particularly in...
