Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown: Complete Edition is the definitive version of one of this generation's best 3D fighters and is a must, with a caveat or two, for anyone who played the original version. It's especially true if you own the PS3 version...

I do have to say that I did find myself doing more with the customization options than I ever have before since it was such a chore to unlock things piece by piece, and now you have a relatively wide array of options to choose from...they just cost...

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Review

The coin-op classic comes to consoles, ported and polished to near-perfection for $15.

Virtua Fighter 5 is the fighting game fan’s fighter. There are no frills or a fancy art style to mask lesser gameplay. It’s a brawler, pure and simple. However, the more you put into it, the more you practice, the more it gives back, giving it an...

The real issue that Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown faces is one that it can do little to solve. This is a game that struggles for recognition in a market flooded with excellent fighting games. Virtua Fighter 5 is a decent game that is certainly worth...

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown: The contender returns

Virtua Fighter 5 has lived a long, fruitful life through this generation. First making its appearance on the PS3 early on in its life, it was later ported to the Xbox 360 with added online play. For years, the game would stay quiet up until the Final...

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Review

These days the genre of fighting games is much like that of the first person shooter, in that it is dominated by a few select titles. In terms of Shooters, Battlefield and Call of Duty are the obvious names, and while they are similar in terms of...

Inviting a few friends over and feeling like a boss while I pwned their arses.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Review

A fair, clean fight, but stiff and lifeless too.

Tutorial walks through mechanics; Plenty of subtle strategy and complexity; Fair, balanced mechanics don't feel cheap

General presentation is dry, dull, lacks life; Unlocks via gameplay replaced with DLC; Not much variety in modes or incentive to play alone

This rendition of SEGA's aged fighting franchise doesn't bring that much new to the table. Dedicated fans of the genre who maybe have gotten tired of the madness of Marvel vs. Capcom or other more crazy modern fighting games might appreciate this...

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown review: Meet the real master

No fighting game is more misunderstood than Virtua Fighter. Often derided as complex and inaccessible, it's actually a far simpler and less demanding game than Street Fighter when played at a moderately high level.

Beautifully balanced characters ; Crazily, almost intimidatingly deep ; Faster than Virtua Fighter 5

The barrier to entry will be too high for some

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

At such a low price, and including fully-formed online battling, character customisation and the best AI in the business, it's a true grand master. Training starts now. Don't be late.

Deep, balanced and tactical ; Tremendously satisfying ; Fantastic price

Customisation is DLC only

At such a low price, and including fully-formed online battling, character customisation (through DLC, but it’s entirely optional) and the best AI in the business, it’s a true grand master. Training starts now. Don’t be late.
