Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (PlayStation 3)

If you're a Warhammer 40K fan, you've dreamed of taking up a chainsword and carving Orks into bloody chunks of flesh and bone. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine plants you in the heavy boots of an Ultramarine and lets you do just that. The viscera fly in...

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Ever since author Robert Heinlein introduced the idea of power-armored soldiers fighting off hordes of murderous aliens with nothing on their minds but guts, glory, and country in Starship Troopers, the space marine has been a fixture in science...

Space Marine does just enough not to be awful. The controls work, the graphics are passable, and the guns shoot where you point them, but Space Marine is unambitious and never aims for being anything other than a mediocre third-person action title with...

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

I've enjoyed just about everything Warhammer 40,000-related that THQ has done prior to now, so it was a surprise that Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is such a disappointment. This dual-stick shooter, blessedly brief, seems more of an afterthought than a...

More work than fun, this dual-stick shooter soon becomes a repetitive and tedious chore. Only for die-hard completist 40K fanatics.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Review

Warhammer 40000's Space Marines have become grandfathers of the genre. Slowly, they have become what can only been seen as a clichéd game hero. Their iconic look has inspired plenty of games, both past and present, and so to has the world which they...

Space Marine offers a no frills action romp through a familiar world that has been treated with the respect it deserves. It’s clear Relic have a love for the Warhammer universe and it comes though on how Space Marine has turned out. The combat is...

Review: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Space Marines in the Warhammer 40,000 universe are awesome. They're stronger than normal humans, better armed and more armored than regular soldiers. They also border on immortal since they age far slower than normal humans and are far harder to kill....

simple controls, story is pretty good, gorgeous visuals, solid RPG-style multiplayer, high level of customization in the multiplayer

Hit detection can go weird, Chaos really just seems kind of tacked on in the story, very linear and ultramarines again

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

THQ and Relic have done a great job recreating the look and feel of the Warhammer universe. Filled with a well done soundtrack and the amount of cheesy voice acting you'd expect, this is the same universe you've known for decades.

I rate this game at most at 7, no more... this game is way too decent & I believe, Relic should make another exp for DoW2 to add Tau + Necrons + Dark Eldar + Daemonhunter instead wasting their limited budget for many so so projects like Space Marines...

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

A new computer franchise launch for the miniatures game pumps up the action for newbies and old hands alike.

While it certainly has its weaknesses, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is well-done overall. The animation is sharp, and the autosave and lack of load-screens keep players engaged and pumped-up. The voice acting is solid, but the sound effects are...

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Review

Space Marine asks players to become single-minded servants to the call of combat in a variety of brutal forms, each equivalent in intensity, efficiency, and ardor. A satisfying, cathartic release, though with minimal cerebral stimulation.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Review

Darkness crowds the world. Countless foes, alien and human alike, threaten the might of the Imperium of Man. The Emperor, once the last shining beacon of all that humanity strives to be...

Visceral, engaging gameplay ; Lots of fan service for 40k devotees ; Great art direction and set pieces ; Incredible customization feature

Some occasional visual glitches ; Not much variety in mission structure ; Thin story for the uninitiated ; Multiplayer is too derivative

Darkness crowds the world. Countless foes, alien and human alike, threaten the might of the Imperium of Man. The Emperor, once the last shining beacon of all that humanity strives to be, survives only as a husk; kept alive by a failing mechanical...

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine Review

When it comes to sci-fi franchises, few are as criminally under-appreciated by mainstream nerd-type culture as the Warhammer franchise. After years of Relic Entertainment's excellent Dawn of War RTS games on PC garnering only decent (but not amazing)...

Space Marine gets off to a sluggish start and it never really reaches the lofty heights that long-time fans of the tabletop games probably hoped for, but Relic has still done an admirable job in making their first AAA-level action game - and the online...
