Under the surface, not enough has changed to the formula that separates The Elder Scrolls Online from existing free or established properties, and I would find it genuinely hard to recommend to anyone seeking an experience outside of a cosy, well...

One of the best skill progression systems in any MMO, hands down; Fantastic presentation, UI and voice acting; Deep, very well written lore permeates every single quest; PVP is genuinely great fun

Combat is laggy, glitchy and slow; PVE gameplay is uninspired and generic; Lack of interesting or new mechanics; Subscription fee is not justified; After a fairly hefty beta process, still lots of bugs
