InFamous: Second Son review

There's a good reason that Sucker Punch's Infamous: Second Son isn't titled Infamous 3. Second Son carries the DNA of the two previous Infamous games, but it introduces a new protagonist, a new story, and new powers. It's a franchise reimagined, and a...

Switching powers keeps things fresh ; Moving around the city is a blast ; Challenging, but balanced fights

Repetitive sidequests ; Missed opportunities in the story ; Somewhat generic story missions

Infamous: Second Son builds on the best of the previous games in the series, even while mired in repetition.

InFamous: Second Son Review - PS4 superhero powers that aren’t on PS3

Sucker Punch's first game on the PS4 is filled with a lot of fun moments even though the story itself is a little on the light side.

Mercenary Kings

When certain games release, you find yourself wondering why more developers haven’t done the same thing before. Mercenary Kings is one of those games. While few inherently new ideas are at play in Tribute’s latest project, the combined...

inFamous: Second Son – This City Is Delsin’s City

inFamous: Second Son is an extraordinary game that doesn't play like a launch library title, where it felt like the developers weren't entirely sure of what they could do.

Infamous: Second Son review: Thank you for smoking

There's a stark duality at the heart of the Infamous series. The original Infamous was built on a solid foundation, putting players in the role of a modern-day superhero with a repertoire that expanded gameplay in satisfying, meaningful ways throughout...

Infamous: Second Son review

Infamous: Second Son is the game that every PlayStation 4 owner has been waiting for, whether an existing Infamous fan or not. It's the cool TV ad - well, the American one without the shouty British voice-over anyway - that's done it. All those quick...

Open world play, ‘good and evil’ replay value, power swap mechanics lend to game’s individuality

Repetitious play, linear missions, new powers feel much the same

InFamous: Second Son

Introducing the first great PS4 exclusive

Stunning lighting effects ; Enjoyable combat ; Impressive open-world environment

Morality system needs more depth ; Side missions are forgettable

InFamous Second Son is our first true example of what a great PS4 game should look like. The world is stunning, it’s slick and polished and the gameplay is a whole lot of fun. The morality system still needs work but with a big city to destroy, it’s...

Infamous Second Son

Sucker Punch's debut PlayStation 4 game is the first big exclusive since the console launched and so, perhaps unfairly, it has a certain weight of expectation on its shoulders. Thankfully by sticking to the series' strengths and utilising the power of...

On the whole however Infamous Second Son succeeds, for the most part, as both a worthy sequel to the PS3 Infamous games, and a showcase for the power of the PS4. The gameplay may be familiar, but it’s fun and fluid and filled with content without being...

inFamous: Second Son Review

Despite the neat ending afforded by the epilogue, here’s to hoping Sucker Punch will give Delsin a sequel that addresses some of the detractors of Second Son and builds on the awesome foundation it’s laid down for the future of the series.

Damn pretty: PS4 new-gen has landed; Delsin is a fantastic protagonist; Great soundtrack; Effective emotional beats in the story; Halfway decent touchpad integration; Entertaining brotherly camaraderie between the leads

Start-stop gameplay; Get final power too late; Spray-painting mini-games are the worst; Don’t feel like you earn your powers; Holds your hand a bit; Black or white morality
