Co-op mode is a blast ; Solid online component ; Plenty of content

Campaign grows stale ; Controls are limited

The Ace Combat series has always been known for quality. Regardless of what platform the game released on you can always expect a solid outing. In the latest game Namco Bandai has delivered yet another engrossing experience, but with a catch. Joint...

Ace Combat: Joint Assault

Ace Combat: Joint Assault is the latest entry in a series that has survived a few system generations now, so the gameplay is pretty well-defined at this point. You're dogfighting over the skies of wherever you happen to be, using the various planes and...

Rolling a Joint

Ace Combat heads into new territory with Joint Assault: co-op. But is it enough to elevate the PSP version to console-level greatness?

There's a bright side to things, but it comes with a serious caveat: the game supports Infrastructure-based online multiplayer with up to seven other aces (including the option to square off in warring squadrons). Awesome! Except, again, nobody is...

Ace Combat: Joint Assault Review

Co-op or bust

Fully co-op missions, fun multiplayer

Acirc;…once you get the best planes. Very mediocre solo campaign mode, occasionally frustrating controls

It may take some finagling to find it, but there is a solid flight game beneath the problems. ItÂ's just a bummer that you have to dig into several menus, find some buddies, and replay the campaign repeatedly to get to it.

Review: Ace Combat: Joint Assault (Sony PSP)

There are reasons to go back to stages other than credits, though they're largely superficial. You're ranked on your performance, though I'm confused as to how that works, exactly. There are stages I thought I nailed and only got a C in, and other...

Ace Combat: Joint Assault- PSP

Even if you aren't interested in taking this online the lengthy, branching campaign and bevy of unlocks will keep you satisfied until you've personally ensured that every last bogey has bought the farm.
