ClaDun x2

One of the games that really caught me by surprise last year, was NIS and System Prisma Co.'s ClaDun: This is an RPG. It was a wonderful little PSP title that had a great look and was a ton of fun to play and I found myself throwing a lot of hours in...

With the PSP entering its twilight phase, ClaDun x2 is one of the last great games for the system. Even with the Vita on the horizon don't let this one pass you by.

ClaDun is a solid dungeon crawler, but it might not hold your interest for long.

Offers a lot of dungeon-crawling content ; Magic circle system has a good deal of depth to it ; Retro visuals and sound are nicely done ; Lots of room for customization

Key gameplay elements are poorly explained ; Story is wholly uninteresting ; Not much of an improvement over the previous ClaDun

ClaDun x2 Playtest: An Awesomely Creative Timesink

While ClaDun focused on existing characters, ClaDun x2 focuses on the original character you create when the game begins.

1. When you save, the save file icon is a snapshot of the character you’re controlling in AC, which is neat!

Double the content with slightly less charm

Interesting new classes and magic circles, incredible amount of customization, dungeon exploring is still fast and breezy

Charming side characters mostly absent, co-op has been removed, new customization options not always adequately explained

Regardless of these nitpicks, ClaDun X2 delivers on NIS?s promise of providing twice as much stuff as in the original. Sure, co-op and quirky characters are a casualty of this strategy but the same pick up and play dungeon crawling, satisfying player...

We've always been taught that getting more of a good thing is, well, a good thing. But how much exactly becomes too much? Nippon Ichi Software test this theory with its sequel to last year's retro title, ClaDun x2 (short for Classic Dungeon), an old...

Review: ClaDun x2 for PSP

ClaDun x2 has you starting in a weird parallel garden world named "Arcanus Cella" with no exit, at least not one that is known of. There is a doorway to somewhere else but it leads to a stream of dungeons that are filled with monsters and treasures. So...

Retro graphics that are used well, controls well, the character building works well

The story is really not that good, retro style won’t appeal to everyone

While the story in this classic RPG takes a backseat to the rest of the game, ClaDun x2 gives players a wealth of content to enjoy that gives a sense of what a traditional RPG should be.

Review: Cladun x2 (Sony PSP)

There isn't any voice acting in x2, but that shouldn't surprise you as it is meant to be a nostalgic throwback. The sound effects are limited to the noises from weapon on monsters and the occasional spell or object breaking. There isn't a lot here in...

Cladun x2 is a step backwards from the original released just last year. It lacks the customizable ending as well as a lot the story and charm of the first. Instead it offers some new magic circles, several new characters classes and a triple random...

Old school art style and feel ; Deep customizations ; Fun game play ; Magic circle is brilliant as always

No full on multiplayer ; Feels like an expansion more than a sequel
