Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP)

Call it Grand Theft Auto Gaiden. While there have been handheld takes on the GTA series in the past, none of them have ever properly captured the things that made the modern installments in the series so popular. Things like the sprawling environments,...

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories

Given the popularity of the franchise on the PS2 and the widespread disappointment for many console gamers when Rockstar first announced the original GTA title for the PSP, were leaning towards the first option as to why Liberty City Stories has made...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Unless you're new to this whole 'Playstation' thing, you've probably played Grand Theft Auto 3 at some time. And if you have, you'll feel right at home here. GTA: Liberty City Stories is another trip through the streets of the worst city in America,...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

It's not surprising that Liberty City Stories is still one of the PSP's top selling titles. With the popularity that Rockstar has accumulated over the years with its critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto series, it wouldn't be hard to make a mediocre...

Although Liberty City Stories is the most technically impressive PSP game I’ve come across to date, I just couldn't help but feel a little disappointed with it. Sure it's GTA on a handheld, but it's a GTA I've already played (or close enough too it). ...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

When the PSP first launched, it seemed to lack a true "hit". Of course there are hits in comparison to the current PSP library, such as WipEout Pure, Ridge Racer, and Lumines, but there were no Devil May Crys Socoms, or GTAs. Well, obviously that's...

Liberty City Stories is a great start to expanding the console-based series to the handheld world (Who was really that impressed with Grand Theft Auto for the GBA?). While the game could use some polish on the control scheme and the graphics, Liberty...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on PSP

Killer App or Killer Crap?

Considering this game has been made on a handheld system, credit must be given. I respect what Rockstar has done with this game and how they made it run on this handheld system. Creating a living, dynamic world is hard enough to do on a console or PC,...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Review

Rockstar's flagship series violates its way onto your PSP.

The actual story is about as stereotypical as cookie cutter narratives come but it's engrossing nonetheless. The missions are, for the most part, the same old and now dry crap that they've been flinging at us for years (pick up that person,...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

There are few franchises that have become as influential for the game industry as the Grand Theft Auto series. On the one hand, it's expanded the scope of the 3D action title immeasurably, layering the main storyline with numerous side missions and...

Frame rate issues, targeting hiccups and other minor quibbles aside, this is a portable 3D version of the Grand Theft Auto series, which is phenomenal to behold and even better to play on the go. The fact that it's condensed for the PSP is spectacular,...

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Rockstar has made a name for itself ever since Grand Theft Auto III was released on the PlayStation 2. Since that time, two follow-ups to GTA III have been released to massive sales and a lot of controversy. Now entering the handheld arena for the...

Overall, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is the best handheld version of GTA ever. While it doesn’t come close the level of excellence found in San Andreas, Liberty City Stories is one of the best games available for the PSP. That is if you are...

Grand Theft Auto: LIberty City Stories

For those who've played the wonderful (and industry-changing) Grand Theft Auto III, you may remember the portly Toni Cipriani from the many missions you completed for him. In Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories you get to control him in his younger,...

Graphics ; Gameplay ; Voice acting ; Being a car salesman ; Loading times are very fast

Missions kind of become a bit monotonous ; Loading occasionally freezes things up for a second ; Lack of swimming really hurts the overall game

If you own a PSP and are 18 or older, buy this game now!

Product Specifications

There are a million stories in Liberty City. This one changes everything. Once a trusted wise guy in the Leone crime family, Toni Cipriani was forced into hiding after killing a made man. Now he's back and it's time for things to be put right. The streets of Liberty City are in turmoil. Warring mafiosi vie for control as the town begins to self-destruct under waves of political corruption, organized crime, drug trafficking and union strikes. No one can be trusted as Toni tries to clean up the mess of the city's chaotic underworld. Deranged hit men, morally depraved tycoons, cynical politicians and his own mother stand in his way as Toni tries to bring the city under Leone control. Forced to fight for his life in an odyssey that will shake Liberty City to its foundations, Toni must use any means necessary to secure his place in the leadership of the Leone family in a town up for grabs.
