Metal Gear Acid

Metal Gear Acid, as you may all know, is not like the Metal Gear games for other systems-even the name is different; the game is an Â'Acid,' not a Â'Solid.' I remember seeing a video about why the name was Acid, and the answer was plain and simple:...

Many games hold a special place in my heart and Metal Gear Solid is one of them. I loved Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, and most recently, Metal Gear Solid 3, and all those chronologically before, between, and after. But of all games to take a...

It's hard to recommend this title to all Metal Gear fans because of the fact that the gameplay is so incredibly different from what diehards have grown to love. But even if it isn't an action title, Metal Gear Acid still has its successes as a strategy...

Well, the PSP is here. With the release of the PSP, of course, comes a slew of new titles and sequels targeted at the portable market. There are a few titles out there that are brand new or differ from the norm, but one in particular takes the cake:...

If you love card games or are a fanatic for Metal Gear, and you're fairly patient, then this could easily be the game for you. It's a really great implementation of new technology as well as being very ambitious. It's always a good thing when a game...

Metal Gear Acid

Snake is back in a very deep and very pretty game that's very different from what Metal Gear fans are accustomed to.

Deep strategic gameplay; sharp graphics; heavy storytelling; many of the qualities people love about Metal Gear, but with different gameplay

Gameplay nuances not explained well; very slow and very long gameplay might not be ideal for a portable game; weird story elements

When we think about the Metal Gear series, I can take a wild guess and say we think about great action stealth game that consists of great storylines

Metal Gear Acid is a solid card-based strategy that I know will disappoint many because it’s not your typical stealth action game. With that being said, if you are into these sorts of games, Metal Gear Acid will definitely appeal to you. Otherwise I...

Metal Gear Acid review for the PSP

Snake's new deal.

Cool card system; Deep and smart; Highly playable

Highly frustrating; Terrible camera; Bad A.I

Although Metal Gear Acid may not be the game to show off your PSP's graphical prowess, it is probably the deepest title available for the new system. It's also a very original title - you don't see too many turn-based stealth/strategy games, and we...

Metal Gear Acid

Though Metal Gear Acid won't have the same production values as a normal Metal Gear Solid release does, that's not to say it won't reach some alike heights. The longtime voice of the Solid Snake character, David Hayter? Gone. The voices of other...

Metal Gear Acid PlayStation Portable Review

A card trip!

In the end, while Metal Gear Acid is an amazing title which strategy fans and hardcore MG addicts will appreciate and love, it cannot be recommended to everyone. This is a niche title that is perfectly suited for the handheld console, but which may be...

Metal Gear Acid review

The headlining release of the PlayStation Portable launch, Konami's Metal Gear Acid, is quite a difficult title to judge. As many of you may already know, this portable game doesn't feature the same run-and-gun gameplay of the PlayStation and...

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the reception that Konami's latest Metal Gear outing has received. As a high-quality title from one of the most respected franchises in gaming, it's disgusting to see people (even Metal Gear fans) turning their...

Metal Gear Acid (PSP) review

Fan boys were up in arms when they first heard about Konami's new idea for its acclaimed Metal Gear Franchise. rn

With so many puzzle and driving games already appearing on the PSP, it’s pleasing to see such a solid strategy title in the PSP’s launch line-up

Product Specifications

The new form of "Metal Gear" is a "Metal Gear that is not an action game". The new element making this possible is "cards". Using cards means the player must "customize" his/her abilities and strategies. Cards = the player's weapon + abilities. In "Metal Gear Acid", the player "edits" his/her weapons and abilities to fight in a way best fitting that particular level. The player's mission is still that of infiltration. Unique characters appear in a grand, original story. While methods of expression differ, this still is "Metal Gear". The fusion of the well-known "Metal Gear" series and totally new gameplay - "Metal Gear Acid" is a title completely different from the "Metal Gear Solid" series.
