Naruto Shippuden Kizuna Drive Review

Kizuna Drive is the first game in the Naruto franchise that has a gaiden (side story) plot not in line with the current story arc. Will this satisfy the self-titled “Nartards” enough before the second great shinobi war story arc starts?

Naruto Shippuden Kizuna Drive does its best to be Monster Hunter, (with ninjas!) and for the most part it does it well. The gameplay is solid, the co-op is fun and the story doesn't take away or spoil what will happen in the anime. However, stupid AI...

Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive

Although the internet in general is obsessed by fantasy ninjas, it's plain to most people that the reality was almost certainly something entirely different. However the land of folklore is an entirely different beast. The manga-based world of Naruto...

Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive

The frustrating AI ultimately ruins what could have been a decent PSP brawler. It would take an extreme amount of patience or loyalty to the Naruto brand to even see this game to the finish, especially when it's a side story of the franchise.

It's amazing this idea hasn't been explored before: Naruto, a series full of four-person ninja teams, adapted into a four-person multiplayer brawler.

Perhaps inspired by the breakthrough success of Monster Hunter, Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive puts players in four man teams. The strange thing is you can't play story mode with friends.

OK, so for the die-hard Naruto fans, maybe all of this can be forgiven if there are few good fights with the tailed beasts? After all, you get to pummel the (false) Shukaku. A word of warning – big boss battles with tailed beasts are sparse. You won’t...

"SAVE YOURSELF!"

I was so horribly dissapointed in this game I could not believe it. I have the full collection of Naruto games and could not believe how badly they dropped the ball on this. There is no free roam, each mission is separated into little "islands" that...
