PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe

Q-Games upgrades their PSN PixelJunk Monsters to a smaller and sleeker PSP version. We have a review.

PixelJunk Monsters is a game that lends itself easily to portable systems, and I’m glad Q-Games took the plunge and brought this much-loved game to the PSP. Easy to learn, difficult to master, this game is perfect for gaming on the go. With an adorable...

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe - PSP review at Thunderbolt Games

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe is a game forever destined to put a smile on your face. Whether it's the title screen that changes appearance depending on what time you play, or the beautifully drawn scenery that populate each level, its subtleties are...

Everything you love (or hate) about PJM and PJM Encore in a neat portable package.

Actually, it can get downright jaw-clenching in some portions of the game, but that only makes the PSP's multiplayer that much more entertaining. I'm not for games that I can completely walk through (okay, maybe I am a little), but playing levels with...

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe brings the addiction to the PSP without skipping a beat. It does however, offer even more content to tear through.

With the exception of some automatic camera pans that can leave you a little lost, the graphics of the HD version work absolutely perfectly here on the PSP screen.

Despite a frustrating difficulty level, the deep strategy and undeniable charm of PixelJunk Monsters will keep you hooked for hours.

Charismatic art style ; Simple, yet surprisingly deep strategy gameplay ; New islands and challenges add hours of play ; Great multiplayer

You can now enjoy the much beloved tower defense game on your Playstation Portable. PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe tasks the player with defending their tribe and hut. To do so the player must transform the surrounding trees into towers with different...

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe feels right at home on the PSP. The gameplay is extremely addictive and you'll have fun challenging yourself to obtain all those rainbows despite the uneven learning curve. If you never gave PixelJunk Monsters on the...

Monsters in your pocket

Cute graphics and bouncy music ; Great value ; Perfectly designed for portability

Uneven learning curve ; Dangerously addictive ; Doesn't add anything truly new

Though not flawless – that shallow learning curve quickly rockets up to impregnable cliff face – it’s the perfect pick up and play title for strategically minded PSP owners. Just be careful not to fall into that ‘one more go’ mindset whilst travelling....

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe is the third edition of the incredibly addicting downloadable title from the developer Q Games. The gameplay is similar to any tower defense game but what makes PixelJunk Monsters stand out is the charm and simple to learn,...

It is no secret that PixelJunk Monsters is one of the best downloadable titles to hit the PSN, or any console for that matter. The challenge of navigating a round and then later perfecting the level is something that has kept gamers (and Kombo staff)...

The new island is fun but it might not provide the same challenge as the last addition. It is really easy to pass the level but there is a small challenge in getting a perfect rainbow. Before you get to that level, you need to retread some old levels...

This is a no-brainer. PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe is one of the best games on the PSP. The portable nature now fits the game better than when it was on the PS3 and with the online mode, it surpasses the PS3's version considerably. There is so much to...

Q Game's PixelJunk series of games has quickly become one of the marquee franchises to grace Sony's PlayStation 3. Their previous entries have been well received by gamers and future products will be hotly anticipated. To some, the game that pushed...

Extremely easy to learn ; Great variety in weapons and enemies ; Tons of content including co-op and challenge modes ; Looks fantastic ; Better suited on the PSP over PS3 ; Great price

Although easy to learn, missions get difficult really quickly ; You need to "Perfect" stages to unlock all content ; Soundtrack might not appeal to all

Deluxe plays out identically to its PlayStation Network original. You control TikiMan using the Analog nub or Control Pad with the X button used to build and modify structures. One of the cool aspects to PixelJunk Monsters was the interesting upgrade...
