Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Review

Everything but the immersion.

Great graphics, fantastic story, psychological profile encourages multiple playthroughs

Not very scary, running sequences can be irritating

I'm of the opinion that survival horror games are a tough sell on any handheld console simply due to the smaller screen size and the need to wear headphones and possibly sit so that the light through the train window doesn't wash out the game's darker...

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

A re-imagining of the PSone original gets under your skin

Cool puzzles ; Lovely light and shadows ; Hidden mementos of the first game

Cowardly fleeing ; Nearly scare-free ; Only one type of monster

Grounding Silent Hill in reality is a neat idea. God knows the rusted hospital/school shtick was growing, well, rusty. But Shattered Memories goes a step too far, anchoring the game outside of horror. Climax has taken the cerebral gameplay a little too...

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

This brilliant reimagining of the spooky series' progenitor is a breath of fresh air that will stick with you despite its shortcomings.

Deeply emotional story with great pacing ; Incredibly haunting atmosphere ; Your experience depends on how it profiles you

Far too short ; Puzzles and nightmares are always the same

Konami's Silent Hill survival horror series returns to its roots in this re-imagined version of the 1999 original. The storyline and setting are the same as in the PlayStation game, which has you controlling a distraught Harry Mason as he desperately sear

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (PSP) review

For people who are scared of gameplay...

It's not scary, it's full of lazy clichés, it's blatantly been designed for the Wii, there's nothing to do, there's very little logic of any kind involved in any of it and the closest it got to giving us nightmares was when we almost fell asleep. Boring.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories = Shattered Gameplay?

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories = Shattered Gameplay?

I like the Silent Hill games series and was therefore looking forward to Shattered Memories on the PSP. It follows the usual Silent Hill model and is driven by its story which I found very engaging and kept me hooked meaning I'd completed it in about...
