Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Sony PSP Review

In the game, Harry Mason is driving with his seven-year old daughter Cheryl, when he suddenly loses control of his vehicle on an icy road. He comes to, seeing his car in pieces and realizing that his daughter is nowhere to be found. Armed with only a...

Outstanding atmosphere, intense chase sequences that force you to act quickly, terrific gameplay interactions, psychological tests help shape your experience

Not much action, ends too soon

If something doesn't work, the best thing you can do is retrace your steps, find out what went wrong and correct your mistake(s). That's what Konami has done with Silent Hill. The survival horror series started out strong, but over the years, it kind...

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Silent Hill and I go way back. In 1999, I was 12 years old and a total wuss. I couldn't handle scary movies or games, and gore sent me fleeing from the room – I couldn't even handle the Black Knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail....

Slow-burning, mature storyline; intense and creepy atmosphere; psychological profiling actually influences the game; Wii version makes clever use of remote; among the best graphics, sound, and art design on Nintendo's console to date

Nightmare sequences can be frustrating; strict division between safe and dangerous segments means that the game often isn’t as scary as it could be

This reimagining significantly alters the Silent Hill formula, but for those willing to put up with the occasional frustrating chase sequence, Shattered Memories is a masterpiece of atmosphere and storytelling that demands your attention.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

This brilliant reimagining of the spooky series' progenitor is a breath of fresh air that will stick with you despite its shortcomings.

Deeply emotional story with great pacing ; Incredibly haunting atmosphere ; Your experience depends on how it profiles you

Far too short ; Puzzles and nightmares are always the same

Does The PSP Finally Have A Worthwhile Rally Racer?

If you are a PSP owner, and a fan of racing titles, you have pretty much noticed that the rally sub-genre is poorly represented on the PSP. Really, aside from Sega Rally Revo, your only other option is WRC from Namco, and it was average at best. Sega ...

The game engine is fairly solid. Does maintain the feel of the console version

The championship mode becomes repetitious after time. Lack of online competition. No car damage

Shattered indeed!

Been playing it for a week now and I think its fantastic. I know some mags gave this a ropey review, and to be fair I understand where they are coming from. But when you actually get into the game and get to grips with the story, Shattered Memories is...
