The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion (PSP)

From the title alone, you might figure that The Legend of Heroes is a game of epic battles and mighty warriors, though in fact, the young main characters of this story don't become true heroes until many hours into this traditional role-playing game....

Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermilion

With the lack of decent titles, and with Sony constantly screwing over any attempts to get homebrew content onto the handheld, PSP owners have not been feeling a lot of love lately.

If you like a good long RPG, that has a decent, albeit completely mangled story, you might want to give Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermilion a spin. While the combat is simplistic and the game doesn't take a lot of risks, it does make for a solid...

The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion Sony PSP Review

The story's pretty basic, but runs the mill. You take control of this adventurous kid who somehow got separated from his sister, the only family he's really ever known. But in his adventures, he finds himself taken up by plenty of new tasks, although...

Great gameplay system and graphics that hunker back to the old school

Music is pretty average, and the quest is over way too soon

The Sony PSP had yet to get an RPG, you know? Sure, it had a game such as Untold Legends in its midst, and something could be said about the adventure provided within Sony's own Kingdom of Paradise. But I'm talking about a full-blown, old-school RPG,...

The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion

The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion is one of the first games with a classical role-playing game (RPG) style to be released on the PSP portable gaming console. Since the April 2005 release of the PSP, RPGs have been too few. Attempts have been...

The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion

Sony's new-fangled portable kicks it old-school in one of its first role-playing games.

Entertaining RPG in all respects; smooth pace that never dawdles too long; graphics are pleasing and practical

Won't blow away those looking for the next big thing in RPGs; forgettable music; isn't as challenging as it could be

The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion

This traditional, turn-based role-playing game casts players as an orphaned boy in a dismal, sci-fi future. When an unexpected attack by strange machines kills the hero's parents, he sets out on a long, difficult journey to discover the machines' origin a

Old School

If your looking for old NES/SNES/Genesis style RPG gameplay on your PSP this is exactly what you are looking for. If your looking for an original story and current style eyecandy then you'd do best to look elsewhere.

Nice mix of old school sprites and 3D textured backgrounds ; Many stopping points allow you to play the game in many short sessions without loosing track of what you were doing last ; Excellent game for those who loved the old CRPGS

The story is a bit stale and very predictable. As long as you can overlook the fact every 3rd RPG that was ever made uses the same story then its not too bad

Its purdy good

It reminds me of Golden Sun for GBA. For the first 2-3 hours its a little boring and strange, but afterwards it gets very interesting. the weapons and upgrade system is good. the turn-based battle system is very well done.

great 2D graphics ; nice visuals ; 50 hours of game play ; high battery life (4 hours) ; unique battle system ; 100s of unique characters ; fun story ; imaginative characters ; great animation ; fast load times

game is kind of boring for the first 2-3 hours ; controls are just a little bit funny ; too much talk sometimes
