Virtua Tennis 3

Last year, Sega's Virtua Tennis: World Tour on the PSP marked the first new entry in the series for quite some time. While the game successfully translated everything that made the series great to the handheld, it wasn't perfect – the titular World...

Still the best game of tennis in town ; World Tour mode feels much better paced and balanced this time around

Terrible graphics ; Not enough options ; Fails to address issues the series has always had, like the bland soundtrack ; Frankly, this game isn’t much improved over its predecessors

This is the best tennis game on the PSP, but it’s not much improved over last year’s title. Only serious tennis fans and those who don’t already own Virtua Tennis: World Tour should bother with this one.

Virtua Tennis 3

I've always been more of a basketball fan, so when Virtua Tennis 3 for the PSP arrived last week, my initial response was complete confusion. I'm not lying when I tell you that my only experience with tennis in the past 24 years of existence is the...

A very playable tennis game if you don't already own World Tour.

Virtua Tennis 3

Like tennis? I don't care whether you do or not, because you'll like Virtua Tennis 3 regardless.

A host of wacky educational minigames; ad-hoc doubles (with bots, if necessary); rockin' soundtrack

No infrastructure support; weird yet minor graphical glitches; Mario Ancic couldn't be that tough

Virtua Tennis 3

Virtua Tennis 3 does nothing to revolutionise tennis games, but it's just as primal and instinctive as its most ancient of relatives.

A fully fledged console game packed into a handheld ; The best PSP tennis game yet

Awful and unnecessary cut-scenes ; Awful loading times

Virtua Tennis 3 does nothing to revolutionise tennis games, but it is evident that continuing refinement has paid off as the series has developed. The game is as close to Pong as the London Philharmonic Orchestra is to a caveman banging a rudimentary...

Virtua Tennis 3 (PSP) review

Advantage, deuce or break... this is ace.

Fluid and fun as expected. It’s ideal for onthe- move play sessions but is ultimately overshadowed by its predecessor. The new mini-games are a blast though, and we can’t overly punish what is still the best tennis experience out there.

Virtua Tennis 3

Smashing stuff

So it follows that if a developer can really capture the essence of a famous and beloved sport, distilling its subtleties into a series of tiny thumb movements and button presses, it could and should be astonishing. At its best, a sports game should...

Not the best

Virtua Tennis 3 is a good game and has brilliant graphics. However, after playing this game for a while, it starts to get a bit boring. If you are a real big tennis fan, it will be good for you, if not, try it for a few days. The best feature on...
