Virtua Tennis: World Tour (PSP)

If the sole objective of a game for a handheld system like the PSP were to emulate an existing console video game, then Virtua Tennis: World Tour would be a smashing success. Everything found in Tennis 2K2 for the Dreamcast (which became Sega Sports...

Virtua Tennis World Tour Review

Tennis brought to the PSP the way it should be: fun!

Overall, I have enjoyed my time with Virtua Tennis World Tour. The minigames are a blast although the replay value probably dies off once you have won the World Tour. If you can find someone else with the game, multiplayer can be a lot of fun. All...

Virtua Tennis: World Tour

Tennis, while relatively easy enough to pick up and understand as a game, isn't nearly as popular as other sports franchises. You're not constantly finding seasonal games with tennis "roster updates," or dynasty features where you try to run the...

Virtua Tennis is one of those nice surprises that pulls in more players than just the die-hard tennis fan. Thanks to the numerous mini-games and the World Tour mode, anyone can become a tennis ace. While you're not necessarily getting anything new in...

Virtua Tennis World Tour

Still probably the best series of tennis games ever made, the Virtua Tennis games haven't been made for consoles for a very long time. Instead, it seems that the folks at Sega have been satisfied with keeping the Virtua Tennis games to handhelds. The...

Solid gameplay is as good as it ever was ; A top-notch presentation ; Excellent sound design ; Wonderful character animation and great attention to graphical detail

World Tour mode feels like excercise, excercise, and more excercise... in frustration ; What's with these load times ; Ugly character models ; Cheesy music

It's not perfect, but it's still the best handheld tennis game ever made, and a worthy successor to the console titles

Virtua Tennis: World Tour

Virtua Tennis World Tour is visually very nice for a PSP title. There's a lot of variety in the court types and areas, matching the surface you're playing (though in gameplay terms, the surface matters little as the game plays the same), and the...

Virtua Tennis: World Tour - PSP review at Thunderbolt Games

Ah, tennis. The rich man's sport; played by grunting girls with ever decreasing skirt lengths, and men named “Pat” and “Andre”; watched by strawberry-and-cream eating posh knobs, forever keeping up with the Jones' by extravagantly detailing what...

Virtua Tennis: World Tour Sony PSP Review

Like the previous game, you basically have a set-up that allows you to see the entire court. The close-up view has been removed from this version, but it's no biggie. After all, the wide angle view is better so you can get a look at the entire court...

Addictive gameplay and lots of fun options to mess with

I don't know. You tell me

I admit it, I'm a tennis addict. Sure, I don't play the sport too well, and aside from the occasional ogling of Maria Sharapova I don't really watch it that much on TV. But anytime I run across a Virtua Tennis game by Sega I can't get enough of it. So...

Virtua Tennis World Tour

I am a huge tennis buff, and have been that for as long as I can remember. I am not only a fan of playing the sport but also a huge fan of watching

Virtua Tennis: World Tour is a solid tennis title that ports what was great about the PS2 version and leaves it at that. To me they needed to add some more content in order to make it to the highest standard. If you haven’t had a chance to check out...

Virtua Tennis World Tour

After all these years, Sega is still serving it up with the best tennis in the business

Precise and accurate control; engaging World Tour mode; love for the ladies and the gents

Load-tastic; nothing too revolutionary; non-world tour mini-games are anticlimactic

Virtua Tennis: World Tour - Review

There have been a lot of sports games released for the PSP in its short lifetime, but tennis is one sport that has been conspicuously absent. Until now that is – Virtua Tennis fills the PSP tennis void and fills it quite nicely.

Graphically the game is top-notch. The players are animated realistically and there are a lot of nice extra touches such as ball marks on the courts and shadows cast by the lights in night matches. Good shots are even shown with multiple angle replays,...
