Wipeout Pulse (PSP)

Wipeout Pulse is the follow-up to Wipeout Pure, an original PlayStation Portable launch game when the console arrived in 2005. Back then, Pure was one of the best reasons to pick up the handheld thanks to its superb graphics and excellent handling, and...

Fingers on the Pulse

Studio Liverpool's second WipEout PSP rocks, but it's not quite perfect.

The new structure to the races and the tracks themselves are only the tip of the iceberg as far as tweaks that have been made to the series, however. All of the manufacturers have been rebalanced, and now absorbing a weapon instead of using it offers...

Review: Wipeout Pulse

In March 2005, Sony's brand-new PSP turned into a vivid kaleidoscope withsharp, futuristic-looking vehicles and an occasional screen-shaking explosion. StudioLiverpool's newest addition to the Wipeout series happened to be a PSP launchtitle by the name...

SCEA's pet brand of almost terminally-groovy antigravity racing is back, following in the neon tracers of its predecessor, Wipeout Pure. Pulse sweetens the deal for PSP owners with an expanded career mode, online multi-player, custom audio tracks, with...

If you somehow haven't had the pleasure since the PSOne days, the Wipeout brand of racing offers a futuristic, almost too-sleek-for-its-own-good style of antigravity racing on sprawling, sci-fi tracks pulsing with techno grooves, wherein each racing...

Rock solid gameplay ; Great visuals ; Fun track layouts ; Online multiplayer ; Custom soundtracks ; Deep single player game

Absolutely unforgiving A.I., especially towards the end

This is damn near the perfect WipeOut experience.

WipEout Pulse (PSP)

WipEout Pulse is a game that doesn't try to fix what isn't broken. This is to say that it takes the formula laid down by its futuristic racing forebears, tweaks it ever so slightly, and wraps it in a package of new features over which any fan of...

WipEout Pulse

One of those series for Sony that has gained a real specific audience, is Wipeout, its been around with all of the Sony platforms. Although I

WipEout Pulse impressed me in a lot of ways. The gameplay itself has been improved over Pure, and manages to give a bit better balance with weapons, the racing seems to be worked out nicely, and the modes are fantastic. If you’re a fan of the fast...

Wipeout Pulse Sony PSP Review

Terrific visuals; fun gameplay; customizable skins and MP3's can be installed; entertaining online and AdHoc play

A little too difficult for rookies; general gameplay hasn't changed much; haters of techno will loathe the soundtrack

Wow. Last year, during the Christmas season, Sony was pretty much non-existent when it came to pushing the Sony PSP. I mean, the system still got by thanks to third-party support, but in general, the schedule of released games from Sony itself left a...

Pulsatingly perfect.

Pulse does play very much like Pure with a few tweaks and additions. The high speed anti-gravity racing we have all grown to love is there, as are the assortment of special offensive and defensive weapons and items and gadgets including a few new ones....
