Test Bench: Anthem AVM 50 Preamp/Processor and MCA 50 Amplifier


All level trims were at zero, except in subwoofer-related tests, and all speakers were set to "large," subwoofer on. All are worst-case figures where applicable.

Crisp, clean 1080p video upconversion

No direct remote-control access to video features

While the AVM 50's $4,699 price might seem hefty for anything but a huge flat-screen, it's actually two state-of-the-art products in one. That officially qualifies it as a sweet deal.
