Anthem MRX-700

If it has been a while since you last shopped for A/V equipment, then you may not yet be familiar with Anthem. Anthem's beginnings date back to the early 90's when Sonic Frontiers International first began producing high end A/V equipment under the...

Spectacular Sound ; USB and Ethernet equipped ; Excellent GUI ; Excellent Room Calibration Results

No 7.1 Analog inputs ; No S-Video Support ; No Bi-Amp capability

The Anthem MRX700's price tag may seem a little steep, but the ARC room correction setup, superior power and super quiet processing are worth the added expense.

Anthem MRX 700 AV Receiver Reviewed

Andrew Robinson was a little skeptical about the Anthem MRX 700 AV receiver, thinking that the price and features didn't quite add up. But after he put the receiver through its paces, he saw that the MRX 700 is greater than the sum of its parts.

I must admit I was a bit perplexed by the MRX 700 AV receiver at first, for right off the bat it appears to be a touch over-priced, low on power and packing half of the bells and whistles that many of its competition. However having lived with it now...

A fantastic-sounding product and well worthy of a serious audition

A fast, agile and musical sound ; impressive sonic precision ; good equalisation system

Rivals offer more features

We’re impressed by the Anthem’s ability to track sounds between the speaker channels, too – effects are panned with confidence and pinpoint precision. All in all this is a terrific performance for the money.

Anthem MRX 700 AV receiver

This Canadian AV receiver makes some unusual but sensible choices in set-up and implementation, and proves a powerful performer.

What can I say? If I had used this receiver for a few weeks and knew only that it was a Canadian or US brand, I would have expected it to be selling for $5000. It may not be worth $5000, but by golly it is worth $3000. The Anthem MRX 700 is one very...

Hey Alex,

Anthem MRX-700

conspicuously absent is a set of 7.1 analog inputs, a feature we expect to see in a product of this class and price point. This means no SACD or DVD-Audio playback unless your player can decode it and output it via multi-channel PCM via HDMI and even...

I had a Yahama RX-V1600 and now the upgrade has left my wife and i most satisfied with the purchase. The definition and sound stage are amazing.........and the arc calibration unit is the "cherry on top"
