They put a metal plate, that limits the range (makes it a lil heavier). And the music quality is not the same as having the aux cable directly but its not bad. It serves it's purpose!

Its a good product overall. You can get music going quick from a phone or other bluetooth device. Easy setup. Convenience factor.
