Great Sound with Limitations

Sounds great, but setup took a while. Will not downconvert 7.1 signals to 5.1; instead, just plays stereo. Will not upconvert component video to HDMI, only pass-through. Remote works with TV and BD after typing in a code during setup.

Good value

Great sound, and easy to setup. Two assignable amps for bi-wired front speakers. It has trouble with the 1080i HDMI signal from the computer, no issues otherwise.

Audyssey audyssey audyssey! Upgrade from onkyo tx Sr - 504. Although that was at least 8 yrs old, this was a night and day upgrade. Didn\'t go for the network version because I had a ps3 . Center volume came out a little low from audyssey, might try...

I love it

I've replaced an aging (1990) yammy, built like a tank, but only does dolby prologic II with this denon unit. I'm using it to route all my video signals (only hdmi now, so easy to manage) it even routes my 3D video signals from my blu ray player. The...

the menus are confusing at first, but you'll get the hang of it

very nice

I chose this over the 1912 because I don't need the internet options and the 1912 doesn't have the multEQ xt. The audyssey mic made the speaker offsets a breeze. The sound is louder and clearer than the Sony 7.1 receiver I replaced. I'm very pleased...

osd, many HDMI, sound quality, multEQ xt, easy setup

no video up conversion, remote isn't backlit

Denon AVR-1712 Home Theater Receiver with 3D-ready HDMI Switching

Exceptional equipment quality, simplistic set up and easy to operate; which is why this would be my 2nd Denon Receiver purchase for an addtional home theater set up in my home.

Great receiver. HDMI Passthrough fails most of the time when receiver Is on standby. Registers weak or low signal even when source is on. Otherwise, primary receiver functionality is excellent.

Denon AVR-1712 Home Theater Receiver with 3D-ready HDMI Switching

Pros: great sound and picture quality, Audyssey EQ XT works great, plenty of HDMI connections, Zone-2 support.Cons: no front panel IPOD port, no printed manual, the manual is on a disc and you have to read it from a computer.
